The Walking Dead II - Page 36 Empty Re: The Walking Dead II

Okay so caught up to episode 12.

So two episodes since they've introduced Alexandria and I have to say

Love it!! Finally something different. Jesus, I was losing interest in this show and Alexandria has really sparked some life back into the show for me.

A lot of interesting things to think about:

-Absolutely love what Carol is doing
-Daryl seemed genuinely pissed that Michonne was chosen as Rick's right hand man and not him. Could be an angle here to separate Rick and Daryl and divide their loyalties.
-FINALLY a love interest for Rick since Lori died. He's definitely gonna tap that and kill the husband while he's at it.
-Carl following his dad's footsteps trying to pull one himself Laughing
-I have a feeling Maggie will be killed off because frankly Tara and Glenn go together much better and Tara is so much more badass than Maggie.
-Rossita
-I like Abraham a lot, hopefully they don't *bleep* up his character.
-Noah, priest Gabriel, Bullet guy need to die.
-Love the new old Congresswoman lady character (forget her name).
-The gay couple seems interesting (specially the guy that was pleading for them to come to Alexandria). Also agree with Morty that there HAS to be angle for Alexandria people for wanting Rick's group to come join them so bad.
-Glenn  This is the Glenn I like. Though I feel the writers are forcing him too hard to become a leader.

I like the idea of showing the start of the epidemic or whatever you want to call it. Just go hour by hour, day by day as it starts to emerge what it is, growing and everything turns to panic and chaos.

But that beginning phase can last only so long and I don't know can they have a different angle to the WD world after that than what the original series already depicts. So, I'm thinking Fear the Walking Dead could be good at first, but skeptical can it add anything new or worth while after that.

Episode 13

Filler episode but was still entertaining to watch. Having a pre-apocalyptic dinner party Laughing Rick making a move on the blonde Proud  Carol scaring the little kid rofl

Glad Daryl found a buddy. I really like that Eric character. The 3 standout characters in new place are Dianne, The blonde milf, and Eric.

No joke this Alexandria arc is the best point in the show since Shane died in season 2.

Also that horse dying had me more depressed than any human dying since season 2. Seriously that was so painful. Poor horsy.

Episode 14

Noah's death Shocked  That was gruesome as hell. Holy shit. However I was expecting his death sooner or later. Also Eugene going Rambo ffs    Hopefully Tara is alright. She's a good character.

Gabriel turning heel Mad  What a pos. I've hated this guy ever since he was introduced. Dianne has a decision to make now. Either banish Gabriel and side with Rick's side and let the chips fall where they may or nip this in the butt ASAP because Rick's group is taking over everything. (Also Maggie overhearing everything means Rick will know about that soon).

The writers had to get rid of the blonde milfs husband somehow so they make him out to be a hitter Laughing  Serving dat ass to Rick on a silver platter Laughing

The whole group becoming leaders at their jobs  Abraham  Glenn

Episode 15

Rick ffs      Lmao might as well have had Jon Bernthal acting the role of Rick this episode.

Rationally, what Rick is doing at this point is definitely wrong. He's going about this whole thing way too extreme. Long term he's 100% correct but people aren't ready to let truth set them free.

Michonne knocking out Rick is smart. Though I feel her reasons were wrong. She doesn't want to lose what they have in Alexandria. That shows growing disloyalty to Ricks group. Her reasons should be to stop Rick because he's going about it the wrong way, but her head should be wrapped behind the fact that Rictatorship needs to take over this town if they want to sustain life here.

Also I didn't like how Rick got beat up by a physician ffs  He should have manhandled the doctor.

Watch the last episode, that's all I've got to say about Michonne being wrong. It's not disloyalty, she knocked him out because he was acting up as he usually does but he lost it for the moment and she uad to intervene before messing up even more than he had done so far.

What I didn't get about Rick's "you don't know how bad it is out there!" ranting is that why didn't the group use examples? Like, telling the Alexandrian folk that there are people out there who tie you to a chair and throw a walker in the room, people who are ready to kill you just to get your bottle of water, people who eat you for breakfast, literally, people who enslave you... Instead it was just this semi-mad "you people are so lucky, it really is quite bad out there, you know" ranting.

Anyway, I think I can now stop complaining about the show until the next season starts.

I have a feeling Fear the Walking Dead is going to be even better than this show. Cliff Curtis is a goat actor. Even if they have some better writers on that show it will be better. And I'm reading that it will focus a bit more on the outbreak as well which is exactly what I want.

Would love it if down the line a crossover between the shows happened.

Meh, average ending and storyline. No idea why Rick and Carol are trying to destroy that community from the inside.

You've got a decent community, supplies etc, just stfu and happily live there. Why start an internal war over petty matters.

Because they know the community is "too soft" and they should establish their ways to make for the best possible way to survive.

Thing is though it's not as if the community were being invaded by walkers or anything. If it was and the community living there didn't know what they were doing, fair enough, Rick and group attempting to toughen them up would have made sense.

But the community were living peacefully, there was no danger. To me it just felt as if they were starting a war for absolutely no reason. Storyline wise it all felt very filler-ish as well.

Agreed with MT.

The Alexandria thing was lazy writing, they just wanted to get from A to B without paying attention to credibility. They could have done this "Rick's group integrating with the community" in better ways than cheap drama. Lazy writing.

Hopefully they're now done with the soap opera stuff and next season is about some proper tension, survival and human psyche stuff instead of domestic violence and love triangle issues in a zombie apocalypse world.

Yeah, the first season of Fear the Walking Dead has potential to be really good if it's well produced. There are so many possibilities when writing about the first hours, days and weeks of a zombie apocalypse. I just hope they've had full-throttle approach to it with good budget and no tentative 'let's see how the first season goes' approach. The first season of Walking Dead had that 'careful start' thing.

Most mportant thing for me is to not get too detailed as this may give the show a slow burn type of feel, which I feel isn't a thing the fans will want much because we already have those partss in The Walking Dead. No doubt that it will have the same vibe as TWD (just like Better Call Saul being similar in its writing and production like BB) but where the real challenge comes is to ace the transition between the slow stuff and the adrenalin pumping/intense moments while have an adequate amount of both. That particular aspect seemed to be the main issue with BCS's critics.
