Re: The Walking Dead II
I don't get it. I didn't get to use my kleenex
Kinda disappointed
At the start of the episode I said to myself, nah, Daryl can't go. He had not got much screentime lately and they wouldn't just give him an episode to built up his death, ffs he is a fan favourite after all, they just can't do that.
Then I thought it was either gonna be Glenn or Rick (I know, but hey I'm a paranoid person). And when he got shot by Nicholas I though for sure it would be him, but when that pile of walkers fell down on him, I knew nah it won't be him because he is going to miraculously escape that inescapable predicament. Then when Rick saw the gate open and went on the walker run I got scared, literally didn't know what was going to happen with that, but then when everyone was holding guns to other persons' heads (Glenn-Nicholas, Sasha-Father pos) and Rick was down on the ground walker on him, I knew no one worthy is going to die this episode.
Am I supposed to cry about Pete.
Oh and that ending, "do it Rick" was a bit cringe, that look that Deanna gave him, she could have gone mental for a bit and shout at Pete and then Pete could have came at Rick or something like that and then Rick could take him down without anyone's consent and then we can get consent at the start of the next season.
Anyway, I can't see how those two are the only Wolves guys, surely there has to be more.
And of course Morgan
starting the episode with him, ending it with him.
First 3 episodes of this season was BOSS. Then it went into a bit of a slow drag like we know this show can go into, but I actually like the hospital arc as I have already stated before. It was good, and then second half of the season got better episode after episode, until this episode broke that pattern, but it was still good. Handled all the parts well.
Season 5 rating: 8.8/10

Re: The Walking Dead II
RICKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Unreal speech and that shot was amazing lmao. He was itching ffs. Also, it was genius of him to use the walkers insides as a silencer lol.
Ricktatorship is back
Morgan though Glad to have him back. Lmao at him reuniting with Rick while he was shooting someone.
Overall a fantastic episode. Intense as shit. Great blend of drama and thriller. Thought Glenn was done but he is too good for that. Both Daryl and Glenn have gone a level up. Specially Glenn. Love him as much as I did in Season 1 n 2. Rick stole the show once again though. He is such a great actor. Can single handedly carry the show on his own if he wants.
Abraham's speech btw to the point with no shits given. Hope they give him more screen time next season.
Wolves are not just those two lol. But they are insane. If you noticed, every walker had a W on their forehead. They were all alive when Wolves put them there. Can't wait for them to invade Alexandria.
Elitedam is right about the holding hands bit at the end. The community needs to be showed united in some way for the inevitable villains.
rip the old man. I kinda liked him. Jessie is free for Rick now
Thought this season was TWD back to its best bar few episodes which is expected with the season being 22 eps.
8.9/10 overall

Yeah I read that afterwards, but I'm sure as daylight that they didn't show it over here. Stayed on the channel till after the credits, then they showed a promo of Wayward Pines and just when that was done I changed.

Re: The Walking Dead II
7.5/10 for the finale.
Was it Reedus who had said "you should bring tissues to the finale"? Why exactly? lol
It was a soft finale. I don't mean bad, but too soft for me. Compared to the great finals of seasons 2, 3 and 4, this wasn't anything as good.
My likes from the finale:
- Morgan. He's a bit mystical character by now - a bit like Michonne was at first, but in a different way - and I could see a lot of good stuff written around him.
- Sasha didn't die. Also her confrontation with Gabriel seemed to be what both needed. We'll see if both of them are now "mended" or what direction they'll go next season. (Still expecting one or both of them to die next season).
- The Wolves are nicely set up to become a major problem next season, I suppose.
My dislikes:
- The ending. That's the best they can do? Pete storming in with a knife, all mad, only to manage incredibly clumsily kill Deanna's husband? Okay, I can just about believe he might come raging in with a knife - although not even that makes too much sense, did he expect he can butcher Rick in front of everyone and have their support still? - but that he accidentally slices open another one's throat is just not credible. Also what followed, that now it's cool to put a bullet in his head, who is a husband and a father, without further thinking about it. Yeah, that was one lame ending, might have given the finale 9/10 if it wasn't for this ending.
- What exactly was Nicholas's motive to kill Glenn? What was he going to gain from it? Again a little unbelievable drama. Anyway, it wasn't that badly made, but Glenn should have pulled the trigger. Would have added a layer in his character and I've a feeling he's going to regret it later.
- Yeah, the first two members of the Wolves weren't exactly convincing, lol.
- How easily Rick and his group apparently gained the trust of the Alexandrians in the end. A few walkers stumbled in and they and Pete had to be killed and now we were left with a sense that the Alexandrians are "woah, these people know their shit, let's do what they say".
Anyway, a decent finale, but this whole Alexandria thing has been clumsily written so far. The tensions created have felt forced and some solutions cringeworthy, most notably the finale's ending. Looking forward to next season with more pressure from the outside, because that is clearly needed.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Oh, and one more complaint I wanted to make:
Are the zombies made of wax now? Okay, I understand the splatter element is part of the show, but Daryl beheading three of them with one swing of an iron chain and father Gabriel beheading one just by pulling onto a thick frigging rope on the zombie's neck... They should just hope for a torrential rain, that would probably destroy the zombies for good.

Re: The Walking Dead II
I think the reason for that is that the zombies are literally decaying so it should be easier to tear them apart the longer they are dead.
My main problem with them is that sometimes you can hear them coming from a mile away while other times they just sneak up on you. These ninja zombies are one of the most annoying plot devices in the show.

Well yeah, that, too, eats the credibility at times. Like the trap Daryl and Aaron got themselves into, there was like a hundred zombies there and they couldn't hear any of them? And after all this time they haven't learnt to knock on doors before opening them to listen if they get a zombie response?
Sure, these things don't matter for the plot, but lazy writing like this is annoying.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Badass finale. For the standard of the show, it was quite enjoyable.
Rick didn't hesitate one bit to put a bullet in that woman beater at the end lol.
Also how did Glen not kill that guy, how much empathy can one guy have. Also how did he manage to evade being pinned down by them zombies, I thought he was a certified goner. Next scene, nothing was shown or explained, he just popped up and wrestled with dude.
Gabriel continues to be an emo pussy.
clever trap. Took darryl and glen by surprise, but of course they managed to dodge and kill the zombies with ease. And conveniently got rescued by Morgan just as they were about to go on a suicide mission...1....2.....Morgan fires a shot. lol.

He is a known drunk and he was raging after seeing Rick with Jessie. Don't think he was exactly being safe with the sword lol. It was Michonne's sword btw not a knife. And Rick wanted to kill Pete right from the start so it wasn't a shock when he shot him without hesitation. That's what Rick has become.

He is threatened by the fact Glenn knows the truth. It's guilt making him doing all this.

They had to do that without dragging it too much. They can't do more episodes of Alexandria still afraid of the group. Specially with the arcs that are yet to come.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Art I'm surprised not to see the dumbest thing in that episode on your list: Daena's son, who was in gate duty, doesn't make sure to close the gate and no one notices for hours. Seriously what's the point of having a gate if people don't close it? How have they survived for so long? In a fairly closed space, how is it possible that 80ish people don't notice this?
As an aside, what's up with Maggie not telling anyone what the priest said?
I thought Morgan becoming a hopeful human to find Rick being a savage was a nice touch and role reversal than last time they met. Wonder where Morgan picked up those stick skills.
RG I don't think the dictatorship is back, Daena still has the power. Rick had to wait for her permission before pulling the trigger.

Yeah, rewatched and saw it and there's an even shorter scene just after. For those that didn't see it, Michonne is cleaning her sword, puts it back on the mantle, changes her mind and puts it back in her holster on her hip.
Then there's a cut to the man in the red poncho, now zombified, walking through the Wolves' parking lot by a car that says 'WOLVES NOT FAR'

Good points, I've also wondered how they lasted so long. Rick's group has been there, what, 2.3 days and now her husband (the town architect, builder of walls [don't know how they attracted 50 zombies just picking metal up but Alexandrians managed to erect those walls when clearly they're in over their heads]), her son (the supply runner) and Pete (town surgeon) are all dead.
Not to mention Welbz dying and Tara nearly biting the dust. It's a bit ridiculous how shite they are at life but w.e
And three walkers made it inside the walls.

Re: The Walking Dead II
@ RG, I sort of agree that the things mentioned do make some sense and they help the plot, but I think you could have reached the same outcomes with better writing that didn't have all these little credibility holes that stack up annoyingly. Like, to add one more, Glenn is shot & wounded in day light time and three walkers pile up on him. They don't bother showing how he got away. And Nic doesn't bother making sure he dies by shooting him then. And instead of going back to the camp to tell what that bastard Nic did, Glenn (and Nic for what ever reason?) hang about in the woods apparently for hours, because next it's all dark and Glenn goes for another wrestling match. It's just lazy writing that, sure, takes you where you need to get to plot wise, but takes the viewers for stupid.
@ BC, I can forgive the gate left open thing, because you'd expect Gabriel to close it instead of trying to f*** up everything, although I don't get it why no one came gate duty after that and no one saw it was open?
And yeah, Maggie apparently not telling anyone, not even Glenn about overhearing Gabriel's and Deanna's chat, that's just not logical. Like, no "heads up, the priest isn't on our side"?

Gabriel is a giant POS and waste of time.
Nicholas attacking Glenns bullet wound summed him up for me *bleep* *bleep*.
Abrahams speech so good!
Really can't wait for next season and the spin-off, I've just started playing the games too.

What do everyone think about that spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead that's premiering this summer? Great that there will be two WD shows or can't be bothered with the spin-off?

if it can stand on it's own then I'm happy to be having more WD content, especially to alleviate the withdrawal while waiting for season 6.
Liked Kim Dickens in House of Cards and Cliff Curtis in Sunshine so I'm optimistic atm.

Re: The Walking Dead II
Okay so caught up to episode 12.
So two episodes since they've introduced Alexandria and I have to say
Love it!! Finally something different. Jesus, I was losing interest in this show and Alexandria has really sparked some life back into the show for me.
A lot of interesting things to think about:
-Absolutely love what Carol is doing
-Daryl seemed genuinely pissed that Michonne was chosen as Rick's right hand man and not him. Could be an angle here to separate Rick and Daryl and divide their loyalties.
-FINALLY a love interest for Rick since Lori died. He's definitely gonna tap that and kill the husband while he's at it.
-Carl following his dad's footsteps trying to pull one himself
-I have a feeling Maggie will be killed off because frankly Tara and Glenn go together much better and Tara is so much more badass than Maggie.
-Rossita
-I like Abraham a lot, hopefully they don't *bleep* up his character.
-Noah, priest Gabriel, Bullet guy need to die.
-Love the new old Congresswoman lady character (forget her name).
-The gay couple seems interesting (specially the guy that was pleading for them to come to Alexandria). Also agree with Morty that there HAS to be angle for Alexandria people for wanting Rick's group to come join them so bad.
-Glenn This is the Glenn I like. Though I feel the writers are forcing him too hard to become a leader.
