Re: Champions League: Match-day 6
lol ok I get it now, you think I'm some reincarnation of a previous poster or what?
No, that's my first time and ID on here. I'll try to search some posts to find out if the comparisons are flattering though.

If Pellegrini realised we only needed 1 goal, and puts a fresh Aguero on for 15 minutes, I think I would be the one laughing.
Then again it's all ifs ands buts and conjectures.
On a different note, I don't see Bayern repeating their CL campaign. This embarrassing loss at home will have teams thirsty to give them a real go.

you really believe Pellegrini didn't know you needed 1 more goal to top the group?

Milner of all people schooled Bayer midfield a good one tonight. The 2nd half reminded me of frustrated Barcelona under Pep back then against park the bus team and City didn't even park the bus, they just out muscled the shit out of Bayer players.
please, I implore you to be careful put the 'n' at the end there next time.

CWO's mastery of the English language is unmatched on this forum. Can't be him.
That is why. That is CWO style right there. Noone else ever says that on GL

Like when they lost 3-0 to Basel and 2-0 to Arsenal. Give it a rest. Bayern got complacent like they usually do.

Re: Champions League: Match-day 6
it was 1:3 to Borisov Jibers, but yes you're right.
You see how good a defeat this is to manage expectations though.
And no, I'm not clockwork and I don't know who that is.
However, I realize people who say "I'm not crazy" are considered crazy, so I won't try to convince you of my identity any further.

about as offside as your crossing guy before the 2:3, so basically not.

If you think Pep's whole Bayern lineup is meant as a coded message to Barca, I'd say you're a little too self-centered.
But Thiago indeed tries to be too flashy all the time, making the spectacular pass when he can make the same pass in a simple way.
Reminds me a bit of the way Kroos was a couple of years ago; he will settle I think.
But I'd rather see him play in front of Martinez or at least switch roles with him from time to time than to be the single holding midfielder, at the moment.

Do some research, it's not a secret. This is a hot topic amongst the City fans.
Before the game, the talk was that we needed to win by a three clear goals.
At 4-2, he thought we still needed two goals, when we needed one. Fact. To me it seems like he thinks they won 3-1 at our ground and if we had won 4-2 at theirs, the two goal difference would have cancelled each other out, because in an interview he was asked about Aguero coming on in the last ten minutes, and he said if we had been in front 4-2 at the time he would have had Aguero come on, but didn't think we could have scored two more goals in the last 10 minutes, but we only needed one.
Rodwell on for Dzeko as the last sub add further credence to this.
Alan Ball and the Liverpool game spring to mind.

Re: Champions League: Match-day 6
I almost considered writing Bayern off after their 1:3 loss against BATE last season, but I decided not to. A 2:3 loss in a match that meant next to nothing changes little; they are still the favourites.
There is a match a season where Bayern look like they couldn't be bothered, in all honesty. When it was 2:0, I was thinking that it would end at 5:0 or so.
I think Bayern's next opponent is Hamburg. Hopefully they can stay safe and avoid another barbecue with the fans. I assume that Guardiola and Sammer will show no mercy to them.

leverkusen, the team that devalueates the CL and should be replaced with the magic Serie A teams, made it to the playoffs

They did beat City/Arsenal at home also and Chelsea on neutral ground, as well as getting to two back to back CL final winning one to complete a treble.

Don't think Bayern played that seriously, to be honest.
Have to give City credit though. Let's hope they don't take the confidence from this game to belt every team away from home in England too. :X

It's okay to if you get complacent every once in a while.. but if its happening every season then I can't take it seriously. Lost to BATE, Arsenal and now City. The choker mentality is showing up. Not to mention City fielded their second XI lol.Red Alert wrote:Don't think Bayern played that seriously, to be honest.
