red - League champion
black - club plays CL*
purple - club plays EL*
green - no participation in EL/CL
*) that is, club qualified for the CL/EL spots, but might not actually go through the qualification/play-offs
I decided to add Bayern's FIFA Club World Cup matches, too. I put the CWC data into the League Cup column as Germany does not have a League cup and I didn't want to add some extra columns only for the CWC and Bayern.
Oh and I know that FC Basel 1893 doesn't play in one of the 5 top leagues, but this is my list and I want to have Yann Sommer in it anyway

Re: Return of the Top Defenses of the Top 5 Leagues 2013-2014 (stats)
Well, so far neither Bayern nor Basel look in any way as convincing as last season. Particularly the two Super Cups made Bayern suffer greatly with 6 goals against in two matches...

Re: Return of the Top Defenses of the Top 5 Leagues 2013-2014 (stats)
This is the first time I've read our name us FC Liverpool
I know that is how Bayern and Barca and some other teams are officially named. With the FC in front of the club name, but it's absolutely wrong in our case. You don't call someone Jane-Mary if they are named Mary-Jane.
Just thought I should mention it.

Re: Return of the Top Defenses of the Top 5 Leagues 2013-2014 (stats)
Oops. Thank you for the correction. Will fix that for the next issue. I used the German version as this is how we write it: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/intligen/england/barclays-premier-league/2013-14/spieltag.html
Someone told me about Chelsea a while ago, but when I put together the other teams for the list I used kicker as reference... I bet there will be mistakes for the French, Italian or Spanish teams, too, so if someone finds errors, please feel free to mention them. (I always have trouble when trying to look up the results for Nice, Milan or Fiorentina, too, until I remember that in German they are listed as Nizza, Mailand and Florenz )
LOL, I just checked Goal.com's stats for curiousity's sake and look at this: http://www.goal.com/de/results-standings/64/premier-league/table?ICID=OP XD

Re: Return of the Top Defenses of the Top 5 Leagues 2013-2014 (stats)
It's quite comical how our defence has been this season
Think that's the 4th goal we've shipped from our opponents 1st/2nd shot of the game. We keep bossing matches then out of nowhere we concede. It's odd.
