Very Happy lamela is gone Gil and he lost along with rest of surplus team

I overreacted because to me seeing Lamela in Surplus team is just a pain in the stomach , plain factual bad
but i guess i should have gave ljajic some credit because he linked up with pjanic and Totti perfectly and was rather decent judging by the fact that it was his first game with Roma

But the reason for this is quite obvious. LE played a more possession-styled football that required slowly building attacks. Lamela is a vertical player and thrives more without such constraints which is why he was great with Zeman, who has a very vertical style. With AA he was played as a RM in a 5 person midfield and as a SS but rarely in his natural position. The few times that AA played 4-2-3-1 with Lamela on the right he performed very well. Even with LE I'd say he played very well considering he was a 19 year old in a new country, he was not as clinical as he should have been but he showed moments of great promise.

At Tottenham AVB is building a very vertical team and if his past Porto is any indicator this suggests that Lamela will slot in perfectly for them.

Agreed. That's why I honestly think this deal is a good one for both Roma and Spurs...each player goes to a team he's more suited for. Nothing more, nothing less.

I feel like it was the opposite. Zeman got Lamela playing a more direct game. He started off slowly with Zeman, who told him to quit holding on to the ball for so long and to just move directly into the box. After that, Lamela exploded and bagged quite a few goals.

Lamela has all the potential in the world, but he needs to be coached well. He's not the type that is able to just walk into any team and make a spot for himself. He has to be followed closely and shown each step of the way. This is mainly due to his young age, but he needs to understand how his strengths can benefit the team he's on.
