Re: How did Inter fall like this?
Benitez made a mistake going there after Mou. It was a poisoned chalice and after their exploits in the CL, were never going to repeat such a feat with the old biddies in the squad.
The player's attitude towards Benitez, particularly Materazzi, was disgusting from professional footballers.
RB will have the last laugh though when Napoli dick all over Inter in the league.

Re: How did Inter fall like this?
While blaming the players is fine and dandy, Benetiz didn't know how to handle the players at ALL, that was his downfall. Yes we had an ageing squad but after he left we made a very good run and finished second under Leonardo with pretty much the same squad, Leo didnt have any trouble with the players as well
So just because RB is in the better situation now doesn't mean he wasn't at fault with inter

When Cesar, Maicon, Combiasso, Sniejder, and Milito all decline from the best in the world to absolute crap after just 3 months you've got a serious problem. Then hiring Benitez was a mistake, who himself had his fair share of mistakes, then taking gambles with coaches like Gasparrini and Stramma didnt pay off either. With the long extremely expensive contracts of the declining old guard and the FFP crippling us in the market we were signing average players, and when we finally put together a decent squat last year everybody, and i mean everybody, got injured and the team just crumbled.

Well since 2009-10 season all these players have remained below average, you can hardly make the assumption that 6 months of Rafa as manager is still affecting these players, they were burnt out because of Mou's methods.zizzle wrote:When Cesar, Maicon, Combiasso, Sniejder, and Milito all decline from the best in the world to absolute crap after just 3 months you've got a serious problem. Face it, any manager could not have had success with Inter in 2010-11. Rafa was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I never said it's Rafa's fault that these players declined, in fact he was handicapped by this as much as the other coaches did. Rafa's biggest mistake was trying to overhaul the way we played when everyone was comfortable with the old system.
