But that was pretty much the only chance we created in the first half, we should really get a second goal, it's all down to luck otherwise holding onto our lead.

there was a slight change of tactic towards the second half by villa, so they kept the balll more, that worries me a bit

Daaaamn we were poor, so passive, after we scored that goal, right until the end. But that Benteke shot aside Villa couldn't really create anything dangerous either.

Three points, I'll take that, but happy to forget the overall display.

Btw, Cissokho got his debut, surprisingly on the left wing, gotta say I'd rather have brought on Sterling, I hope this is just to get Aly's debut out of the way and because we were on the back foot, would hate it if Cissokho would actually be ahead of Sterling when it comes to left wingers, lol.

But I second what MacsyAgsy said, we need to create more. Otherwise we will end up dropping a lot of points in games like this where we are trying to passively hang on to a one goal lead.

But have to admire Villa they came in with one strong point & they executed that BRILLIANTLY. . . "STOP COUTINHO". It was immensely visible that we thus struggled to create much Sturridge was left stranded in front of goal. We need to speed up our efforts to sign the other player we have been going crazy about for the another source of creativity or something different then what Coutinho gives or else we really do look like strangled for air in attack.

Guys I am not moaning, love the fact we got 3 points but as there are always improvements this obviously is one & i for one am sure BR has noted it down with CAPITAL LETTERS!

I actually expected a win but not one that will require a sphyg by your side...I noticed we start parking the bus on the 35th minute,lack of gas or personnel? the win matters but we need to score more goals to kill the opponent thought of a sudden comeback.....6 points and counting.

Don't look too much into the fact that we defended most of the second half. If you saw Rodgers presser after the game he said he purposely played the line much deeper in the second half because of Villa's threat on the counter. Tiki taka in the first half and catenaccio in the second Proud

Good win but his choice to sit back in the second half was poor. Obviously it can be said that Rodgers got it right because AV didnt score and Pool were able to keep a clean sheet but sitting back for an entire half is never a good tactics.
