Nah glad Assaidi is gone. I don't want players taking squad positions if the manager doesn't trust them at all.

Yep I know BR didn't rate him and it's good that he's gone.

Anyways, forwards we have now: Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho, Aspas, Borini, Sterling, Ibe, Moses*

Too many of them and we don't even have Europe.

Actually I like Costa or Moses kind of guys in our forward line...they seem to those muscular dudes who can brush away texas bullies, making their presence felt on the pitch. Our front line up was too light weight for my taste. Although probably it has nothing to do with football, I just hope he can be another of STUDGE signing. Btw, I would still prefer eriksen in the middle and cou on the left

For the right sort of deal Moses would be a great acquisition, but also quite a reality check if he was all we are left with after pursuing some £20m players.

Also, McAgger, ffs get yourself an avatar, feels hard to notice your posts xD

I hope BR better knows what he is doing, if he is going to miss out on Eriksen. I mean after all we were targeting him on once so we did have a plan at that time, considering the rumours of interest were true.
The problem is, eriksen is the exactly kind of element which probably spurs were missing so it will surely make their midfield even more competitive now.

This is why you have to have a real negotiator, a cold hearted bastard who knows what makes deals tick, and how to close in the 11th hour. Nevermind that with Franco Baldini as technical director to lend his eye to Levy's obvious talents this is only the first magical Summer for Spurs.

You need only look towards Manchester, where everyone is worried about the loss of Sir Alex Ferguson, when the major loss is obviously David Gill.

Luis Alberto is worth £6.8 million but Eriksen isn't worth £9.5 million?

Nothing against Alberto but I'd prefer the player with what, 3 titles and 3 years Champions League experience?

Took a look in the rival thread searching for the inevitable anger McAgger would be infused with after seeing Spurs (presumably) close out this deal. You've wanted him for so long Proud and at a cheap price too.

I don't understand why more clubs aren't in for him?

Nevermind he's a great young talent, but for that price like you (or someone else said), with even semi decent performances and a couple years on his contract, he would collect the price payed for him, or more likely return a small profit. Nevermind if he performs well-- although in that case, keeping him would be best. Really seems like a good deal for a lot of clubs minus Chelsea who don't need more midfielders/AM's.

Liverpool have shown interest in him before...I don't understand why they haven't looked at him seriously again if he's available at that price with just a year left on his contract.

I guess we were hoggling over £9.5m where we offered £9.499999999999999999999999999999m & our highly talked about Transfer Committee where not ready to meet their demands! Seems legit!

Btw not much frustrated in losing out on Eriksen but the frustration is on negotiations!

Does anyone else think that Tottenham are buying too many midfielders, doing a poor man's Chelsea?

Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Dembele, Paulinho, Sandro, Capoue, Eriksen.

I reckon a couple of them will be left disappointed with their game time this season.

Also since they're buying Lamela and if they continue to play with one forward, they'll have Soldado, Lamela, Defoe, Adebayor for that one spot which is also a little crowded.

Great depth and they will be strong this season, but also have to remember that they can field only eleven players at a time.

I was really mad when Chelsea bought Moses & Azpc last summer. They got two highly talented (IMO) young players for very decent (IMO) price. However, I'm not very sure about bringing Moses now.

He doesn't fit the goal-scoring attacker we were after. Also, he looks very much like Assaidi bar his physical prowess. I know Erikson isn't the type we were looking for, but if we can do with Moses, we could do with Eriksen too.

I'm not looking for a 'big name' and I will be happy with Moses. But it seems like contradicting our transfer strategy.

Fahim, get a ice-pack mate.

Moses has been a beast in pre season. The only reason he hasn't featured for us yet is because Mourinho doesn't like him as much.

He would boss it for Liverpool, I think. Thats why I don't want him to go there Razz

Seriously, how can anyone defend this transfer window ??

This was our chance to close the gap on top 4 with all the uncertaintly and changes that was going on. with Arsenal being even worse than us in Market....

and yet, we didn't improve the first 11 at all. and haven't signed anyone permanently since end of JUNE FFS

We passed up on Lamela because apparently we had doubt whether he's worth the fee....we still don't have a CB in, and already injury crisis. the Notts county game showed how thin our squad is.

i think these are some old rumours getting circulated:
I am not sure that it will happen, Arda Turan targetted by us
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/502247/20130829/liverpool-arsenal-transfer-news-interest-arda-turan.htm
Also, it seems like we will make another bid for Sakho:

Liverpool are in talks to sign Yarmolenko and Sakho (@dimarzio)
Yarmolenko is the name of the hour! Rumored by @dimarzio that a bid for 23m Euros have gone in!!

Things looking confusing on Sakho's end!

Tiago Ilori for 7m Euros is another rumors that is making the rounds!

The rumour I'm seeing is that it's 23m pounds (26.9m euros) for Yarmolenko.. Geez, I'd like him, but I don't know if he's worth that much, I was thinking something like £15m when I mentioned him the first time... Let's wait and see if there's any truth behind this story.
