Re: Emirates cup
Dossena is so shit he should just hang his boots up and do Napoli a favour
Cost them in the CL because he had to come on for Maggio,
Costs them every time he sets foot on the pitch. He makes Marco Motta look like Lilian Thuram.

Am i the only one that thinks Wilshere is more suited to a role in the wings?

There's going to be a transition period no doubt.
No it's not his finishing. He was terrible on the ball, got bullied by Kos, made an attempted through ball that looked like he was putting it out of play on purpose. Was awful. But it's pre-season so meh.

ft arsenal 2-2 Napoli
good fightback by arsenal but I have to say napoli looked horrendous in the second half. too many hopeful balls and lost posession in the middle too easily

Not enough pace or trickery for that role. Can't cross either.

Can't play CM so his best position is probably AM but he doesn't create nor score enough for such a role.
He's just....there.....
Despite all that he gets more hype than any other player at Arsenal. Same fans that slag off Bale have the nerve to call this scrub World Class.
lool no arsenal fans slag off bale, we actually big him up since he makes spurs a 1 man team. nobody can deny that guys quality.

Still think his dribbling is far too good to be deployed in deep

to be fair, Koscielny is borderline world class when on form.

Re: Emirates cup
Wilshere doesn't exactly dribble, He has a special gift, He knows the exact amount of space he needs considering his pace to get through a midfield or a couple of players.
Arsenal need a DM/Breaker/Destroyer after a Striker.

True. He has a lot of potential, but he's frequently injured and unreliable.

Re: Emirates cup
Wilshere isn't as good as Rosicky or Cazorla at creating chances so he shouldn't be played as our most advanced CM IMO, but he also doesn't defend well enough to be effective next to Arteta. The best he looked was when he played as a box-to-box midfielder next to Cesc and Song a few years ago and used his dribbling to quickly transition from defense to offense, but we don't really have the personnel to allow him to play that role anymore unless we get another DM.
His talent is clear to see, and he may well develop to suit our current system, but I would go so far as to say that he maybe shouldn't be a starter right now unless we make some signings or Diaby's brain gets planted into the body of someone who isn't made of glass

Re: Emirates cup
Surag i stand by my point on Arsenal not needing a DM as long as Arteta is available.
Arteta and Ramsey is a fantastic partnership defensively and a big reason why they ended the season so well.
They could probably use one as competition and an eventual replacement for Arteta but as far starting i don't think its absolutely necessary.
Wilshere isn't a CM and i have said that for a long time.
Didn't watch the game though, as i was busy so everything i'm saying is based on watching Arsenal in the past.

Re: Emirates cup
Napoli are playing Porto at the moment with the following line-up.
Rafael
Zuniga---Fernandez---Gamberini---Dossena
Callejon---Radosevic---Dzemaili---Mertens
Calaio---Pandev
It will be interesting to see whether Benitez hopes to keep Fernandez at Napoli or whether he will again go out on loan. In a World Cup year, it is unlikely the Argentine will want to risk not having a first team place. Should Skrtel or another central defender arrive I imagine he will seek another club. Whilst I don't rate him particularly highly he could be an interesting alternative for an upper midtable side willing to take on a temporary option.
I must admit, in the absence of Insigne, Hamsik and Higuain it's a game that's not particularly exciting to track. Radosevic's attempts to launch the ball forward have been highly disappointing thus far, very wasteful, though I am not going to judge a youngster on one viewing. They'll want to see much more from him as a back-up this season though.

Re: Emirates cup
This is why people hate British commentators.
Apparently Gamberini is a current Italian international who played at the Confederations Cup this summer. Dossena is also an important Italian international.
