Er...u've left out Check Tiote, great Newcastle player tooGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Our position entirely depends on Pardew and how he sets the team up.
Anita-Sissoko-Cabaye Remy-Ben Arfa-Cisse is a front 6 which I don't believe is bettered by the likes of Everton, Swansea, Southampton etc
With Gomis apparently going to be done by the end of the week and a LW to follow before the deadline its a squad that is capable of a good season.
Hopefully Pardew doesn't let us down again because this time he will have no excuses.

Well yeah he can play there too but he was poor last year and keeps making unnecessary errors.redsnoopy wrote:Er...u've left out Check Tiote, great Newcastle player tooGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Our position entirely depends on Pardew and how he sets the team up.

He's had enough chances, i'd like to see Anita given an extended run in the team in the role that he impressed in that made us sign him.
Anyway i'll be interested to see what changes has been made as i have not watched any pre season apart from 45 mins.
Media talk about short, sharp passes and easy on the eye football with fullbacks getting forward a lot more than last year but i'll believe it when i see it.
Can't wait for Braga tomorrow so i can cast my eye over the team.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14
There is a betting page but its not very active so I hope I can discuss it here.
The bookies have Man C favourite by quite a bit distance, then Chelsea, than closely followed by Man U. Then quite a away off is Arsenal, then same significant distance is Liverpool, then Spurs the last realistic contender.
I thought Chelsea would be favourites just a few weeks back, if they get Rooney it might change that, but atm MAn C confortably favourites, do u agree with this bookies' odds? After the game vs Arsenal it certainly doesnt look too good

Championship wise? I thought that was the best finish to any big game in football last season. Breath taking.GoonerJay29 wrote:Hull and Palace for me, too. Both squads just look short on quality for this level. Koren and Boyd are good players for Hull and I think they'll do well, and Graham's a good striker for that level, but I'm not convinced they've got the quality at the back, while Palace just look this year's Reading.Art Morte wrote:What are folks' relegation candidates? Crystal Palace and Hull seem so likely to go straight back down that we might not get an exciting relegation battle like during the last few seasons... Fulham my surprise bet to get relegated.
At the moment, I think the third team will be Cardiff, but they seem willing to throw some money about and might make some good signings by the time the window shuts, so they may end up with a better chance of staying up.
Other possible candidates in my view are Stoke and Norwich.
I think it'll be a very interesting battle for 7th this season. I fancy Swansea right now, but it could easily be Everton or Newcastle. West Brom would be my possible dark horses.
Championship-wise, it's going to take some doing to top this from last season:
