In Cup competitions, a weak team should play defensively
coz if it plays attack, sooner or later the defence will be caught off. But defensively, they have the chance to defend their way to the final

This is also why teams such as Newcastle should use this tactic to try winning the FA Cup or League Cup

A weak team should do whatever they can do exploit a weak side/player from the opposite team. Nothing else. Defend whenever you need to, attack the weakness whenever you can.

Good point, in Cup competition to summarise a weak team should be defensive against strong teams and exploit the weaknesses of equal or weaker teams

Good point, haha.....but if end in a draw, the stronger team loses out, since penalty kicks favour the lucky ones, not the stronger team

I agree, if you're the underdogs, you've got better chances of winning through defensive play than attacking play. Most of the time anyway.

This means one thing, a weak team should focus on getting good goalkeeper and defenders and defensive midfielders if it wants a good chance at getting a Cup trophy
