With the transfer period approaching its most crucial period, what clubs sporting director has done the best?

Roma secured some sweet deals, with Strootman on 16.5+bonuses, they replaced Marq with Tin, they got an experienced CB in Benatia for 10m. And while De Sanctis maybe old, they found a placeholder until they get a better keeper. Though they still need an LB imo, Balza is decent at most. Maicon was unnecessary but i suppose they need some depth and competition for the FB role

Dortmund also pulled off some nice signings as well

IMO Bayern, Dortmund and Schalke should be pretty high up in the list.

Juve has gotten a knock down tevez price, pirlo,pogba and llorente for free. Barzagli was brought in for for 300,000 euros, lichsteiner for about 9 mil, vidal for 10 million i think we win lol

Bayern this season: signed Pep Guardiola, Mario Götze, Thiago Alcántara - doesn't sound too bad

Dortmund this season: kept Robert Lewandowski, signed Sokratis, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - not bad either

Schalke this season: signed Peter Hermann, Leon Goretzka, Tele Santana, Ádám Szalai, Christian Clemens - can't complain about that either.

Schlake not really impressive...I'd say Donezk is there too

Just because the signings are not multi-million Euros doesn't mean the Sporting Director didn't make a very good job.
Remember, Schalke also extended Julian Draxler's contract and put a pretty high release clause to it. (And with Max Meyer they sort of have the upcoming replacement for Julian Draxler in the works already.)

The likes of Porto and Ajax can't be overlooked. Year after year they sell their best players and bring in crucial cash to keep their clubs floating while still remaining good enough to win domestic titles.

From the BPL I'd mention Swansea and Tottenham.

You didn't have to give concrete examples and explain. I was pretty sure that you won't say something about teams from outside Germany .

Well, I prefer to write about stuff I know about. There are sufficient people who can cover the other leagues with more knowledge than I have there.

If you pretend that you don't know much about other leagues, how can you suppose that Bayern, BVB and Schalke are high up in the list? What you've done is called  comparison. You can only compare two things of that you are aware. Isn't that true?

To compare I would have had to say X is better than Y. I just said "they should be pretty high up" which is no comparison, but a subjective opinion.

I am pretty sure you tried to tell us that they should be high up in the list when it comes about their 'sporting directors'. And that's the point of the thread, but I was trying to tell you that if you are not aware of other leagues, you can't make a statement like that.
