If Rooney is the best player in the league...he is the best not because he is better than Mata. For example, Bale is also better than Mata. Suarez and Aguero (South American talents) are also better than Mata in my opinion.

Even Eden Hazard is better han Mata.

We only won 14% of our games without Mata last season. Been a while since one player has had that much of an influence on a top tier PL club.

Even if Mata was the best player in the league, not saying he is, doesn't mean something is wrong premier league standards. He's an incredible player. Him being top 3 is debatable it could go either way.

Juan Mata 2011/12: Apps: 54 Goals: 12 Assists: 23

Juan Mata 2012/13: Apps: 64 Goals: 20 Assists: 36

Unrivaled productivity in the League. Does it when it matters too. Not against Lower table fodder like Bale and Suarez.

Only player that comes close to his current level in the League is RVP.

Mata's stats are so f*cking unreliable. Every other websites says something different. His assists numbers are probably somewhere in the 20+ range but everyone is just making up their own numbers.

Most of Mata's overall assists were padded against scrub teams in COC and FA Cup. He has around 20 assists in EPL though in two seasons.. fairly good I'd say.
