Wayne Rooney
I don't see the point of our fans criticising Nani, when Rooney has been inconsistent for quite a few months now. We now have Kagawa who is much more intelligent when deployed as an attacking midfielder, and that's not a knee-jerk reaction, considering I have watched countless games in the Bundesliga to make a fair assessment.
Anyway, welcome to the official Wayne Rooney thread on GL.

Is this confirmed? Might be a good thing.
Kagawa and RvP starting together -> Rooney will see how good they play -> He steps up his game.

Re: Wayne Rooney
Kagawa didn't gel well I think in that game.
United used to have this trend (except last season) that for the first half of the season performance can be below par, but when the second half begins, they begin to fire on all cylinders. When this happens, United have a great chance of winning the league. I hope it will come true this season.

Win win
We lost the player who was by far our highest scorer last year. AKA not win win.
I guess looking at the bright side is always a good thing, but saying that a player getting injured for up to a month with a terrible gash in his leg as a "win win" is absurd. Especially when he's our most proven and most consistent goal threat.

Re: Wayne Rooney
Of course he scored much more goals than our other players because he is proven to be more prolific, however, he was very poor in the second half of the season. There were games where he was expected to lift the team and guide us to a win, but we had to work hard for our wins. With Kagawa, who is more intelligent as an attacking midfielder, and Van Persie, who is a better finisher, we're not losing out on much. Plus, when Fergie says he's out for a month, that means he'll be back earlier.StrikingMidfield wrote:Uh... Win Win?Vyey wrote:II Capitano wrote:Out for up to a month...

Re: Wayne Rooney
I fell this is a win and loss situation.
Win is because we have Van Persie now that can step up and show why we bought him without us and himself being frustrated by lack of minutes with Rooney around. This will cause a headache for Fergie now as we will see full potential out of RVP. If it works out we could see Ferguson continue with his 4-2-3-1 formation while maybe dropping Young for Rooney hitting 2 birds with 1 stone.
Loss situation is that we have just lost our top striker. We all know Rooney is a bitch to watch after every injury where it takes a long time for the wheels to get going, letting us and himself get too frustrated.
Come back soon Rooney!!

Re: Wayne Rooney
C'mon guys, it can't be a win the loss of Wayne Rooney. He is a world class striker. His finishes are amazing, his passing game and his vision are unique.I can't wait to see him again on the pitch.Probabily, all the season, Ferguson will play with one of the 2 world class strikers we have now on the pitch. It will be more efficientt for the team.Imagine...Rooney OUT - RVP IN, or vice versa. So always we will have a brilliant player in the game.Sometimes, like yesterday, they will play together some minutes, maybe all 90 minutes.
Get well soon, Wazza!

Re: Wayne Rooney
i feel for wooney!! thats quite a serious injury. u guys have a great luxury with wealth of talents in forward department but none can give that extra push that wooney gives. he is so versatile, hope u guys get him asap because im pretty excited with wooney kagawa and RVP partnership that they could do awful lot of damage to any opponents.

Re: Wayne Rooney
It's not like I'm celebrating his injuries ffs. We gotta accept the fact that he's injured and look at what (good things) might happen in the time he's out.
YEAH OBVIOUSLY I DONT LIKE ROONEY FFS JUST LOOK AT MY *bleep* SIG. JESUS CHRIST
ROONAAAYYY SHOULD LEAVE JOIN STOKE OR SOME SH*T

Re: Wayne Rooney
Now Chicharito is 4th in the pecking order.
Oh, and that RVP buy (even if it was very weird from the beginning) is what's making us take this like a grain of salt now instead of an epic meltdown.

Re: Wayne Rooney
...and that's why it was vital we purchased RVP. We have an additional world class goal scorer who can carry the burden of Rooney's absence.
Rooney out for 2 months, imagine us having to rely on Cheech and welbeck to get us the goals if we hadn't signed RVP.

Many voices were talking about a possible Wayne Rooney departure from the club.
There was no second for me to think that Wazza cand possibly leave the club. But now, even him said that there is no way to leave Man United.

Re: Wayne Rooney
David Moyes says Wayne Rooney has a "good chance" of starting Monday's match against Chelsea.
The striker came on in the second half of the Reds' opening day win at Swansea last weekend having been hampered by hamstring and shoulder injuries during pre-season.
Moyes confirmed Rooney had recovered from the minor knock he picked up during his run-out at the Liberty Stadium and could be a starter against Jose Mourinho's men at Old Trafford.
"Wayne's got a good chance of playing. He has good chance of starting," the manager told reporters on Friday.

Re: Wayne Rooney
Rooney is back!
Definitely the biggest win of yesterday's game. Impressive performance, considering the transfer saga and the fact that he couldn't play in pre-season.
Physically he was a beast and he proved wrong to many of his accusers. This is an important aspect, because we always knew his technical abilities and his unique impact on the pitch for Man United; always there with tremendous crosses, passes and distance shots; always comes with the surprising elements.
Good to have you back Wazza!

Payed back the support with a very committed performance, he was everywhere.
Very professional performance of him if he still wants to leave.
