Mou called Flo and asked to hold off the Higuain sale because they would offer more... that's what's holding it up. Napoli has also made inquiries in the last 24 hours.

So the Higuain thing just may have gotten complicated for Arsenal with the Cavani deal...

26 million pounds is not unrealistic for Higuain. We all know what he is capable of. Last season he was coming of back surgery as well. We don't need the money and we would gladly keep Higuain if no one matches our asking price. Arsenal need Higgy more than us.

im kinda surprised by madrid holding up the sale of higuain. he clearly doesnt want to stay, madrid dont really want him, and 25m is completely fair.

Besides, Higuain is easily worth €30 mil and i am by no means a big fan of his. Madrid is playing it right... once all the top CFs have their situations finalized like Cavani, Falcao, Rooney, etc., their will surely be a top club that's going to be left. It's simple math. When that happens, they will come to Madrid and pay the price for Higuain.

It's like the "buy now" function on ebay. There's a fixed price to buy an item without having to go through auction. But if you don't want to pay that price, there will be an auction and you may either come ahead or lose out completely.

Madrid is in no rush whatsoever.

Madrid should been giving discounts for proven players when Teams demanding 30m euros for a DM (Illaramendi) from Madrid rofl

He was our main man, in the form of his life and he didn't want to leave.

We really don't have enough money to pay 30m for him. 27 was fine but 30 seems a bit too high.

And he has publicly declared he wants to leave which brings his price down further.

If Higuain pushes for Arsenal move at all costs,Madrid simply have to oblige.No two ways about it.

The situation in Madrid is that Madrid aren't counting on Higuain at all and whether they sell him now or at the end of the mercato makes absolutely no difference to us... so we either get our price in the early mercato or we let the auction play out and sell to the highest bidder at the end.

Madrid could end up getting less than what they want... but they don't really care Laughing

They've made a business decision and committed to that process.

We aren't obliged to do a thing Surag... players and clubs usually decide on parameters of a transfer and, if those parameters are not met, the club and the player agree to continue. Obviously, the parameters have not been met or Higuain or his entourage would be crying wolf.

We've been through this with Kaka and others. We cannot be strongarmed.
