Re: The TV Series Thread
2nd episode of Hannibal was far better than the pilot. I do believe I'll keep watching.
Looking forward to the premiere of Defiance tomorrow night. This just might be the new Battlestar Galactica/Babylon 5/Stargate - Given that the creators of the re-imaged BG and Stargate helped create this show along with the creators of Farscape. Not at all convinced how the show interacts with the video game (which looks like an extremely decrepit man's Borderlands), but the show looks absolutely ace.
Beyond that I plan to download the previous seasons of Blue Bloods and dive into that and to start Da Vinci's Demons.
And yeah Dom, I'm a fan of Southland....dat latest episode was insane. Fantastic show. TNT saving it from NBC

Re: The TV Series Thread
Anyone from here watch "Girls"? I find the show to be quite brilliant - just got finished with the second season and it must be said that I was throughly impressed with the first two seasons.

Ok guys, I saw the word Supernatural and ran away in fear of spoilers as I haven't started the new season, but you guys should really check out Arrow! It's a great show so far! I'm on S1E11

There is nudity in the show, but that is not how I would describe it. It is very well written in my opinion and has a lot going for it. While it might not be everyone's cup of tea, I feel those who do like this type/style of show, will gravitate towards it.

Re: The TV Series Thread
Ehh I tried Girls when the hype was up...not my cup of tea honestly.
Da Vinci's Demons.....Saw the premiere episode. I didn't hate it, but it's rather average. Then again, the pilot for Spartacus was hella weak too....

Was watching Breaking Bad and they were talking about money laundering, so I searched it up on wiki and then on the next episode Skyler's looking it up on wiki.

Despite my better judgment, I'm going to check out that SyFy show Defiance later. I know it will stink.

Re: The TV Series Thread
Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention this too;
Save the cheerleader, launch a new programming initiative?
MSN, which is making a big push into original programming via Xbox, is in talks to revive NBC’s superhero drama Heroes, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Details remain sketchy, but sources confirm that MSN is interested in relaunching the once red-hot NBC Universal franchise with new stories and heroes, while mixing in cameos from the original series’ cast (schedules and interest permitting). The talks are said to be in the preliminary stages.
In February, MSN hired former NBC development executive Jada Miranda to oversee production of its fledgling Xbox entertainment studio under ex-CBS president Nancy Tellem (who came on board last fall).
Heroes‘ four-season run on NBC ended in February 2010.

Re: The TV Series Thread
Normally anything that's on syfy is literally the worst tv shows/movies possible in the UK so i'll wait a month and see everybodies opinion on Defiance.
The £50 budget horror movies on there make my T.V cry blood.

agreed..but I watched it and I agree with the reviews I've read, it doesn't do anything innovative with the premiere but it's entertaining enough. Cast seems interesting. I like the main, and fuaaaaaaark some fine ladies in it.
Defiance was the most watched premiere in SyFy's history or something since that Eureka show, which I've never seen.

Re: The TV Series Thread
There's a huge difference between Syfy's tv series (think Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, Battlestar Galatica, Eureka, etc) and their movies. Please don't confuse the two.

Re: The TV Series Thread
That might be true for you RO which is why I said in the UK
I like stargate, but it's always been on sky 1 in the UK. Both of them.
Or maybe it's just that syfy had them later.
But apart from Eureka, everything on that list I've watched years ago on different channels.

Re: The TV Series Thread
Funny enough i've been thinking about that. I followed it on and off. Not because I didn't enjoy it I just kept missing episodes for one reason or another and it left holes in the plot .
I might work my way up from season 2.

Those were all made specifically for Syfy (back when it was still Scifi) or shown first in most cable/satellite packs thereon and they were mostly aired first in the US and later in the UK.
They are all Syfy shows that were picked up by British channels, NOT the other way around.

Aah maybe the name threw me. Well if that's the case then they have had some quality TV programmes, movies are still unwatchable though. And UK syfy is bad.
