Are they going to save up a further 2 seasons to sign Suarez then?

Even if they could afford him, they don't need him with the signature of Neymar.

Well my post was just a shot at the dark rumor but Barcelona do have the finances to afford him, even I think Rossel wouldn't be stupid enough to buy him
though he has surprised us all in the past.

Barca are not struggling financially to sign a CB.

They are struggling because they are trying to buy players who teams don't want to sell.

Has nothing to do with finance.

Barca's finances are all the over the place. That at the end of the day, will be the decline of Barca's dominance.

Their defence is a joke, Xavi and Iniesta aren't getting any younger, and they're going to have to buy a keeper next season too.

Barca won't go for him. lol

How is their turnover as much as Madrid's now and how have they been making profits then ? I'm pretty sure i read a report on Barca's finances being well off in the Barca forum.

Actually, Barca owe back taxes to the country of Spain. The Barca balance sheet is decent now, although the debt is still high... but there's a lack of liquidity right now. That's the issue.

They were asking Silva to take a paycut so that they could pay the transfer fee they thought PSG would require (45 mil).

So yeah, they can't really afford Suarez.

Barca could afford Suarez of that im sure.

But they don't need him so it doesn't matter really

Madrid don't need him either and nor do the only other non English who could afford him in Bayern.

So you are left with Arsenal really.

Who we won't sell too as we don't want to sell to a domestic team.

With or without a transfer request.

This is going to drag on for a while. :S

Also, just out of curiosity, is the reason Wenger won't offer more than 45m because of his tight wage budget? If he does offer our valuation (which is a 55m+ bid), would they not be able to afford his wages?

I'm not sure, so it's a genuine question.

I remember the wage budget issue with Walcott. If Luis is to get a pay rise from his current LFC deal, I think the Arsenal players will want parity.

Because £45 million is a realistic valuation for Luis Suarez, nevermind what Brenton says concerning the Cavani and Bale transfers. They only went for such a high price because the people at the clubs buying them are a bit spastic

In an ideal world, Cavani would be sold for around £45 million, too, while Bale would barely make Spurs £15-£20 million

Liverpool could compete for 4th next year with Suarez. Arsenal aren't in the elite tier with Chelsea/Man Utd/Man City.
