Man Utd prepare £25m for Marchisio

Momentum continues to build around reports Juventus will sell Claudio Marchisio to Manchester United for £25m.

The 27-year-old midfielder grew up in the Juventus youth academy and has been a key figure for the side since 2006.

Manchester United have long been interested in Marchisio, but up until now he was considered to be off the market.

According to persistent Italian reports, the situation has changed with the arrival of Paul Pogba on a free transfer from Manchester United.

His sale for around £25m would help raise funds for the reinforcements Juve want in attack over the summer.

Among the targets are Carlos Tevez of Manchester City and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

Marchisio is a symbol of the club

This is pure fantasy. Marchisio will never be sold. Especially to an English club. If Marotta ever sold Il Principino he would surely get whacked...

Juventus is not a selling club. Nor do we sell lifelong Juventinos to English clubs for peanuts. In this day and age $25 million is nothing. We paid $25 million for flops like Amauri, Diego and Melo, and we are going to sell our future captain and the next Marco Tardelli for the same price as these flops? I highly doubt it...

Manchester United continue to be linked with Juventus midfielder

Rumours persist that Manchester United are set to make a move for Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio according to reports in Italy.

The homegrown Bianconero was linked with the English giants late last week, with reports insisting that a bid is in the cards.

Tuttosport and other media outlets in Italy report that Juve will use the sale of Marchisio to fund their summer transfer window.

The fee is rumoured to be around £25 million (€30 million) and would help raise funds for the Bianconeri as they look to reinforce their attack over the summer.

Carlos Tevez of Manchester City and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain are amongst The Old Lady’s targets, with Atheletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente already set to join the club.
