Players who's prime's were cut short by Injuries
R9 & Van Basten are the most famous two.
How about this Liverpool trifecta of Torres, Fowler and Owen.
Players who are/were not as good as they should have been; Cesc, RVP, Rooney, Ledley King, Gerrard, Kaka, Robben
Promising talents who've been hampered by injuries from the start; Kewell, Pato, Wilshere, Diaby, Mutu
Good players who you've probably forgotten; Woodgate, Dean Ashton, Saha, Hargreaves.
Feel free to add onto the list.
P.S. Messi will be on this list this time next year. Pretty disgusting how overplayed he is.

Daniel Agger. Would've been one of the best CBs in the world right now if he wasn't injured constantly for the past 6 years.

No one has mentioned Kieron Dyer? Or nobody knows him? Robben looks like an ironman next to him
other players:
Anderson
Rosicky
Vermaelen
Aurelio
Vicente
Puyol and Gerrard (although it's debatable if it affected their prime)

Why you name Rooney Or Cesc?
I would add Eduardo from Arsenal. Don't think he was great or anything but he was becoming really impactful before his leg break.

Rosicky would have been one of the Best as Reus agrees

It was never about injuries for recoba, he was just too lazy for his own good. Still the 2nd most talented player in the history of Serie A after Baggio

Van Basten. Still is one of the greatest Strikers to ever live. Retired at 29. Imagine him without the injuries lol

Judas Rossi is 26 now, so just entering his titular prime... there's still a chance that he can recover from injury and hit the heights expected of him. Seems a bit premature to write him off.

Re: Players who's prime's were cut short by Injuries
Woodgate is a great one.... fantastic defender before his injuries and the most talented English defender of his generation IMO.
I still remember the job he did on Drogba in our Uefa Cup semi first leg against Marseille the only defender i really remember "owning" Drogba and he was injured for the 2nd leg and sadly the rest his history.
Not to mention we finished 3rd that year and Bramble looked amazing with Woodgate alongside him lol... thats how good he was he made everyone around look better something we never replaced until Coloccini.
Its a shame people will only remember his time at Madrid because before that and all his terribly luck with injury he really was an amazing CB.
