Hey hey I wouldn't go that far! Though seriously, this win can present an overcoming of a certain mental barrier to which Atletico have faced over Real in the recent years. Think Cristiano v Barca; then and now. It can present an augmented and far more motivated realm of mental strength from the team, which can potentially unlock the ability to mount a serious title challenge.

All of the above, pertains to if the team is concisely reinforced onto key points of weaknesses, frailties and needs that have to be addressed. And of course, the depth that Atletico lack. I take this victory as a huge achievement because this could well be our only trophy for a long time. We will definitely lose Falcao, probably Arda and maybe Adrian, so the team will be in the rebuilding process. We are a selling club, and unfortunately we can never really build on the success of the present season. We have to rebuild every other year. The champions league money will help us get a few valuable backups, but as long as Diego is here there is some hope.

I think what gives me hope is that our strongest aspect is our defence and this will probably remain intact next season. I think we will be getting Toulalan, so that will help a lot.

Was a definite red, i watched the game with a friend of mine who is a massive CR fan more so than Giggity or probably anyone on here and he admitted it was a red.

Firstly Gabi was bleeding from the kick and even if there wasn't much contact there was clear intent to kick him you can see his foot changes direction to hit his nose and it wasn't a natural direction.

Besides he was already on a yellow anyway.

The red to Ronaldo was the right call. But the amazing part is Gabi's initial challenge on ronaldo went unpunished. Gabi was already on a yellow and surely deservd another fr a late tackle. Amazingly horrible refreeing yesterday.

Cronaldo could have seen red 3 times last game, handball and the yellow, the kick from behind, and the face kick. Never seen him like that, he was mad.

Also on Kamikaze's point on the performance of the ref, he was awful wouldn't let the game flow at all so much stop start crap.

Actually you are wrong. Gabi was booked for that challange and Real Madrid got the freekick in that situation..
