Fiorentina keen to land forward duo from Juventus
Fiorentina are set to ramp up their attempts to sign Juventus duo Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella once the Serie A season concludes.
The duo appear to be headed for the exit door with the Bianconeri, with the club being linked to several strikers along with the confirmed signing of Fernando Llorente on a free transfer.
Tuttosport are reporting that Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade is keen to sign the duo in order to give Vincenzo Montella the striker he has been lacking this season.
The duo are valued between €12-€15 million, with Matri also being tracked by Roma and Napoli.
Quagliarella has scored 8 goals in 26 Serie A appearances this season, while Matri has contributed 8 goals in 22 appearances in the Bianconeri’s run to a second consecutive Scudetto.

12Million Euros for both? Why is it what we're such a big club and consistantly let our assets go for money that mid-table clubs would laugh at?

Matri will be 29 in August and Quags is 30. Both do not start regularly. They are arguably on the decline in their careers. Matri cost 15.5m in 2011 and Quags cost 15m in 2010. Neither has featured consistently for the Azzurri in recent years. I think 12-15 million is a fair estimate to their value now.
How much do you honestly believe a team like Juve should pay for players like Matri or Quags at this point in their careers if Juve was buying them? Then, how much do you think a provincial team is going to be willing to pay? The valuation isn't that crazy. I'd say it's pretty accurate.

Yeah if we're talking about what they're actually worth it's not too bad. But every single player nowadays is sold for more than they are worth unless they're pushing for a move or nearly out of a contract.
We should get 18M for both.

Unfortunately, Juve has put itself many times in the last few years where it is obvious that we will take low valuations for some of our players. I think that will change once we get a normal rotation of top players. We were put in some bad positions after calciopoli and we are still working out some of those problems. Because of the "win now" mentality, we were forced to buy middle of their career type players with Matri and Quags. Now, we have too many players around the same age at the same position and it's obvious that we have to sell them, so the market isn't going to be kind to Juve.
With that said, I still think that 7m is a fair price for each player given the circumstances.

We bought them for 15mln each and after 3 seasons we are selling both for 15mln,that's a good transfer strategy from Marotta
I can't accept buying mediocre players like Matri when good strikers like Mandzukic were bought for just 13mln.
Stop spending moneys on players who are worthy for mid-table teams!

Matri was a classic January window transfer. You overpay in January for anyone because teams, like Juve at the time, are desperate.
