Re: AS Monaco superteam
What a team... Abidal is near signing too.
PSG v Monaco is going to be epic. OM is doing it's thing too, although nowhere near this level. But Payet, Valbuena, Ayew and Gignac will be dangerous.

Would be even surprised to see them compete for the league..

Re: AS Monaco superteam
They dont need as much squad depth as some of the bigger teams considering they will only really be competeting for Ligue 1. But having some alternatives throughout the course of the season would be important

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Isimat-Mirin, a fantastic young CB prospect who plays for France U23, was bought as well.
Subasic was a very good keeper for them last year and, unless they get a big name, i'd stick with him.
They also bought Martial, who is one of the top 3 CF prospects in France for me. Paid 5 mil to Lyon for him, which pissed off all the Lyon fans lol. Aulas had to publicly appease them in fact.
Additional defense depth: Andrea Raggi (former Bologna), Tzavellas, Kagelmacher, Andreas Wolf (former Werder Bremen). If they sign a RB, which they are rumored to be, then it's good depth.
Midfield depth: Nabil Dirar, Jakob Poulsen and other depth type players. Frankly, they need to sign a couple more players here.
Forwards: Martial, Riviere (France U23 player), Valere Germain, Ibrahima Toure. Good depth with forwards and talented.
The starters should be:
Subasic
New RB- Isimat Mirin-Carvalho-Abidal
Toulalan-New CM
Moutinho
Rodriguez-Falcao-Ocampos
A RB and CM away from being complete imo.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Isimat Mirin is very good !!
Don't think it's be wise to have only Abidal as quality LB. i don't want him to be overplayed.
Is Ranieri going to be the long term manager ? Or are they looking to replace him after this year

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Tzavellas is also a LB.
Ranieri is there this year and, like PSG, they will make a run at Wenger next summer. Wenger started his managing career at Monaco remember.

Is'nt Monaco after Lucas Digne? Fell Abidal is there for depth in defence. A decent RB and CM, Fernando and maybe Debuchy?

Digne is almost certainly going to PSG... that's why they went for Abidal.
Fernando was mentioned a month ago and nothing since. Haven't heard anything reliable on Debuchy.

Monaco prez announces that mercato is over for Monaco unless something that they cannot refuse presented itself... but they are no longer active.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
Debuchy said he wants to stay and has no intention of moving anywhere.
I would be very surprised if anything on that front moves at all.
As i would any of our players as Ashley has insane valuations.
Cabaye is the only one i see leaving of any importance.

Re: AS Monaco superteam
They're going to finish 3rd. PSG will win it.
Falcao will then find his way to a Chelsea / RM as he's not in a third party any more.
