what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
Juventus is trying to push some moves forward to improve their squad and secure a CL spot hopefully next season.
What moves should they be making to take their team in the right direction?
i think they have about 70M left in their purse.

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
two quality full backs( one defensive, one attacking)
quality b2b mid to go alonside Marchisio and Pirlo and quality playmaker to take over from Pirlo when he retires
world class forward who can play as an inside forward.

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
Creativity on the attack. Just very stale midfield and poor finishing last year. They made Aguero their plan A. Honestly, if i were in the prez's shoes, i would have pushed for Vidal + Falcao or Hulk + Leon. You could probably get all three for about 50 and you have a hard working mid, a winger and a scorer.
With the 20 left, get some young talent for the defense.
But they're trying to make a media splash instead.

isnt marchisio a workaholic b2b? how about a creative CM, someone who can play higher up than Pirlo or instead of pirlo

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
A real frakking manager. With brass balls. (on the way, but lesse how he performs)
To get rid of the slew of mediocre talent and money chuggers they have there who don't contribute to nothing.
Aguero, or another WC forward to link with Matri. Able to play wide is a plus.
Actual full backs, please.
Tactical and player consistency. Every year they sell off a few key players. They want to get rid of Melo who's playing fine, FFS. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Edited post with that in there aswell, my feeling is they will play with one passer( pirlo) and 2 b2b's mids with quality Marchisio and Vidal but Pirlo is old and needs replacing in a couple of seasons( Banega would be good)

Wont happen, people are just seeing that has been Conte's formation in the past and ran with it imo i dont see anyother formation apart from 4-3-3 or 4-2-1-3.
I personally would'nt spend half of your budget on Aguero but that's just me.

Competent RB, LB & LW + Depth. Aguero & Rossi are not needed.

I feel the same, buying Rossi and having enough cash left to pursue another quality player is better

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
In all seriousness the core of their team is trash, no star upfront that can win them games in the crunch, add to that a shaky defence that can't hold leads and a lackluster midfield.
They need starpower. Aguero, maybe another big signing if possible.

Milan proved last year that you need quality in depth most of all.Not sure where we would end up without robinho, cassano and van bommel

Surprised by this thread after the vast amount of players Juve have "agreed terms" with this summer.

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
What we necessarily need and what we will get are two entirely different things.
No doubt in my mind we will take a 'big' name up front, it's a certainty because it has to be. To say the fans are pissed off is a understatement, they are homicidal right now. There has been a little renewed optimism, but not enough, they need to fill the new stadium for starters.
The thing we actually need most of all is our old mentality, because that's what made us win and that's what created our great players. It was a formula of Juventus since time began, a mentality now typified and associated more with Man United..
Beyond that some quality in key areas might now go amiss, but personally I don't think our team is as sh** as everyone likes to convince themselves.
We've left the cursed stadium now, we are back on what used to be the Delle Alpi. A good omen. Also I can't stress enough that we must bomb horribly at the trofeo Tim and Berlusconi cup...

Man, what Juve need is an Argentine star. If we look at Inter's recent success it's clear that the more Argentines in your team, the likelier you are to win! Everyone knows this, of course. That's why Inter signed Alvarez, and Roma are signing Lamela. That's why Palermo refuse 30M offers for Pastore, and Napoli 25M ones for Lavezzi. Hell, even Juve knows this, they're trying to get Aguero at all costs

I don't know what happened to him, when he first joined he was immense and a immediate fan favourite.
Now he's like half a player, His constant injuries and tactical changes seem to have killed off his Juve career.

Indeed, these days I've come to really believe in them. Desperate times
I can see why you are laughing bhends but I'm actually cringing, the deja vu has just hit me. I've posted in basically this exact thread, at this time of year, twice already before.

Re: what's missing for Juventus to get back on top?
Haha well I dont have to worry about the Trofeo Bunga Bunga...we've never won it
As for the TIM Trophy I don't know how I feel
We won it in 05....Didn't end that well for us
Lost in 06, won in 07 (Loss/win Scudetto)
but we won it in 2010....and went on to win 5 trophies....
So we can safely say the winner is destined either to crash and burn horrificly or achieve incredible greatness
Edit: Got faulty results for the TIM Trophy, had to change

It's fine saying that, but because we have no choice but to disclose our transfer budget everyone wants to bleed us dry. I don't think we can compete for any Argentine players.
We used to have a strong Argentine link, Many from River I think. But we haven't had a truly great Argentine for a long time
