Luciano Moggi attacks Javier Zanetti. “He’s acting so he can take Facchetti’s place at Inter"
Ex-Juventus director Luciano Moggi stirred controversy with an attack on Javier Zanetti. “He’s acting so he can take Giacinto Facchetti’s place.”
Moggi has never been shy about criticising others, especially after he became a media pundit in the wake of the Calciopoli scandal.
With Zanetti out for six months with an Achilles tendon injury, the former Bianconeri director general made unusual statements on the Inter captain.
“I want to wish Zanetti all the best, as he is a good man and a strong professional, so I hope he can be back on the field as soon as possible,” Moggi told Radio Manà Manà.
“However, I would advise him to spend these next few months out studying the evidence from the Calciopoli trial rather than trusting what Massimo Moratti tells him.
“It might not make a difference, as the Argentine is probably forced to act a part so he can take Facchetti’s place at the club.”
Facchetti was the President of Inter before his death in September 2006 and wiretapped phone calls discovered in 2011 suggest he was also in regular contact with the refereeing designators during the Calciopoli years.
The FIGC Disciplinary Commission found Inter and Facchetti could’ve been charged with sporting fraud, but the statute of limitations had already expired.
Zanetti is widely expected to take on a directorial role at Inter after he hangs up his boots.

Zanetti to infiltrate the Inter management, work his way up, kick out Moratti and restore order (or whatever is left)
