Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
So that's a 3rd team relegated under Redknapp. When will this man stop?

Redknapp actually did ok. He took over when the team had 0 wins into December lol. I think they had 8 points.

He still ended up being further away from safety than they were when he took over though....

Redknapp ended up with a worse record than Hughes and the manager after Hughes.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
So, which players will be moving on from QPR?
Julio Cesar? Is he still Brasil's first-choice? Would be the weirdest thing if their NT's keeper played in the Championship.
lol @ Samba, was poor and will probably make more in wages in the Championship than many sides' first XI down there.
Hoilett?
Taarabt?
Granero?
Remy?
Are there clubs willing to match their wages or are some of QPR's players willing to take a pay-cut just to join a higher status league?

I wouldn't take any of their players. None of them have shown a shred of desire. Let them rot in the championship because thats where they have been heading since the start of the season, every single one of them deserves nothing better.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
There will be A LOT of out-going players from QPR. Whether they (the players) stay in the Premier League or go abroad, I can't say. Granero could have a future in the Prem, as could Hoilett and Remy (both of which I'd take at LFC for the right price, including wages). They aren't the only ones, either. There are some others that could stay in the Prem with lower teams or as squad players/cover for starters. I actually thought Onuoha had a future in the league before this season... I don't really know what happened to him, tbh.
In any case, the big question for me is what ol' 'Arry Redknapp does. Will he stay? Will he feel that he's "too good" to manage in the Championship? Will he have other suitors in the summer?
Redknapp's situation is absolutely fascinating to me. In less than 18 months, he's gone from putting Spurs in the conversation of title challengers and being the favorite for the England job to unemployment, taking QPR knowing they were in a relegation scrap, managing the club into relegation, and possibly spending them into financial trouble in the process. This is the stuff Greek tragedies are made from.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
Samba, Taarabt, Granero, Remy, Bosingwa, Hoilett, Julio Cesar and Mbia will all probably leave.
So will Cisse, Barton and Faurlin who are out on loan.
Not sure how they got relegated though. That squad should have at least stayed up with the quality they have.
In terms of Redknapp, I'm sure it won't detriment his reputation too much.

Individual quality, a team, does not make.Yohan Modric wrote:Samba, Taarabt, Granero, Remy, Bosingwa, Hoilett, Julio Cesar and Mbia will all probably leave.

What wages are they on? If they're on high wages, maybe a top team could afford them.
The older players would probably have to take a wage cut.

Cesar and Remy are the only good players they have.
The rest are ridiculously overrated.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
Samba is a mid table defender at best....
No big team would sign Samba for any wages he just simply isn't good enough.
Because you can head the ball it doesn't mean you are good enough for a good team.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
Actually:
QPR with Harry: 22 games, 4 wins, 9 draws, 9 losses = 21 ponts or about a point a game.
QPR before Harry: 13 games , 0 wins, 4 draws, 9 losses = 4 points.
Harry's been on the same pace as Pardew for the season lol. They wouldn't have been relegated with 35+ points at this point.

I expect that Wigan will record at least one more win, meaning that the relegation cut-off will be higher than 35 points.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
Harry is on a 36-37 point pace and keep in mind that QPR has tanked the last 2 games since they know they had no chance at saving themselves. They would be fighting much harder if they were just over the line and trying to hold on.RedOranje wrote:I expect that Wigan will record at least one more win, meaning that the relegation cut-off will be higher than 35 points.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
If QPR win their next 3 games they'll have a maximum of 34 points.
The last two games were under 'Arry, right? So while it might not be conducive to your argument it still counts toward his record. And surely a manager has some part of the blame if the players fail to believe in the cause, especially when he brought a number of them in on extremely high wages and/or fees.

Re: Another Notch On 'Arry's Belt
Blaming 'Arry for QPR going down is preposterous. Hughes made bucketload of stupid signings in summer and showed what an overhyped manager he was and left the club in a mess.

Again they were closer to safety when he took over than they are now....
Hughes takes blame but its just as preposterous to say Arry takes no blame either.

Apart from Cesar no player has a hope in hell getting into a 'top' team.
Remy? overrated, good but nothing more.
