Since ferguson is retiring, Rooney will stay at United. I cant see Rooney coming to Arsenal even if we pay his wages.

Yeah, transfer fee wouldn't be much of an issue. The massive problem is the wages, which are almost three times that of our highest earner (which is Podolski, I believe).

So even if there was mutual interest, I can't see us even trying, especially when we can pay players like Jovetic and Lewandowski half than what Rooney is on.

I'd take Rooney in a heartbeat, in any case.

What Jay said. And there's no reason for Rooney to take a pay cut when he's at his prime, either, which is why his options are basically to stay at United or move to one of maybe three other clubs. I can see him possibly at Chelsea or PSG. Bayern at a stretch.

A terrific and sometimes a weirdly underappreciated player, though. I can't say I've always liked him over the years but if the ultra-bizarre happens and he ends up a Gunner, I'd find a way to embrace him soon enough.

Most financial experts i know believe that with the new Emirates deal, along with the new TV deal and our Debt nearly gone. We can spend 100m+ without worrying about anything.

Not sure how accurate that is but not that far fetched either.

I think he has gotten better, it was a maturity issue, I feel that it would be good for US soccer. He can play a lot of positions.

It's not about his ability, it's about clubs being able/willing to look past his Hull City time and him being willing to take another chance in the PL rather than Germany (where US players have tended to do well) or another league.

Fergie has RETIRED. Moyes will do fine, but there will no doubt be growing pains. Now is the time to strike. Take advantage of all the other shake ups going on, the cannon is primed all you have to do is FIRE.

United are going to sell their best player, and if there is even a FRACTION of a chance you can take him then you have to at least try. You'd be making us significantly better and United worse at the same time. How can you not jump on that. They did it to us and oh look they won the title by a considerable margain. Don't waste your time with these bargain relegation team players.

Not to mention the other players out there that could be MASSIVE for the team.
