Muniain the driving force creatively in the 2nd half. De Marcos controlling the midfield. Sevilla with too many chances missed though

Alvaro Negrito scores in the 87th minute from a pass from Perotti and some sketchy defending from Ekiza.

2-1. Game over

Llorente played only one half and looked bereft of his usual confidence despite some solid creative play, as all the bench time has eroded his momentum to which I predict will transcend into his form in Juventus.

with playing more and more games he'll be back to himself. that creativity with Vucinic/Jovetic/Sanchez can create havoc Smile

My fear spurns beyond that. Bielsa has grudgingly benched Llorente for so long with so little chance that such time spent off the field can erode not only a players confidence, yet momentous footballing abilities which have evolved over the years. Especially for front-men like Llorente, confidence is a key contingent in their form. Juve fans will expect him to perform right off the bat yet I predict he won't as he will need time to adjust not only to Serie A, but the sheer INERTIA of his bench time.

I also worry Conte will stick him as a #9 with no freedom whereas he excels most in a False 9 role to drop deep as well.

I stopped following Athletic Bilbao around the first week of February.. I refuse to support a traditional and historic club ran by a meticulous egomaniac and a board of clowns who refuse to make the necessary changes to prevent from running this fine institution to the ground.

I'll be on board again next season, till then. Die Real Sociedad and Die Bilbao.

Arq iirc Bielsa has given Llorente many chances but he allegedly does not take training seriously any more and this has caused Bielsa to become very disillusioned with the player. Bielsa actually tried to protect Llorente at first, considering how he gave him his first post-injury start away from home so he wouldn't have to be booed by the cathedral.

dude please man. every player start a NEW form every season. thats whats summer training is for.

Llorente will train 2 hard months before even playing his first serie A game. i know he will be a key signing.

Besides, this is a win win scenario. even if he manage to finish the season with 0 goals and 0 assist juventus can sell him for 10 to 15 mil for a player they got for free. so all is well my friend.

Juventus is on the rise my brodja

Alfred you are getting me wrong. I'm not on that "Bielsa the coward is benching Llorente that Loco Argentine" Boat. Too further clear up things, Alfred:

-Llorente did and does take training seriously as there was never a problem with his professionalism.
-Bielsa-Llorente relationship is actually quite good believe it or not. Llorente in his final year is working to assist Bielsa in his unorthodox training regimes and has become the locker room leader similar to Gattuso for Milan and Italia. So what's wrong then?
-Bielsa is tasked with a long-term project as we know which is why he isn't fired and why he SHOUDN'T be sacked. Llorente has faced the wrath of the the majority of the fans and not a player to this day will last the wrath of Athletic Club support as they are a very large part of the club similar to Liverpool in fan power. Interview came in Egunkaria from a trusted insider on how both of them have reached agreeable terms that its not advisable to someone who will be leaving next year, but more importantly doesn't have the support of the fans, despite his status in the club, that still remains. Does he get chances? Hardly as 1-2 games pass by followed by a bench appearance yet both parties are surprisingly affable in these terms.

Who is at fault?

Well the man who almost brought Sammer to tears, Urrutia who as usual played hardball with Juve and did not allow the move to follow through despite the imminent move in the summer. Bielsa wanted Llorente to move yet so far has little say in the club despite being esteemed amongst the sociedad. Initially there was a fall-out but that was speculated due to Bielsa's deteriorating relations with the club, which has now been restored.

All the allegations against Bielsa and Llorente are essentially false and mostly made by mainland trash papers. No one holds anything against each other really as the move simply should have happened earlier. Bielsa has done a fantastic job of protecting Llorente and utilized him as an important asset in what is a tumultuous year so far.
