Silly foul to give away but never a yellow card on it's own. Maybe, MAYBE late on in the game if there's been persistent fouling like that but in the first 10 minutes? Nonsense.

True, but his positioning was terrible from that angle.

He's a winger playing about his second ever game at LB... not surprising at all that he's struggling. I didn't for a second suggest it wasn't a foul and he wasn't caught out... but the card was needless and potentially puts the referee in a bad position as the game progresses.

And now the diving truly begins for Mexico.

The United States controlled the game at the start and the end of the half, and survived the middle. If they can do this again I see 3 points in our future. Zusi looks like a man with 50 caps for the national team. I wish he would just start taking the corners from Gomez and let Gomez create chaos on free kicks.
