did we use more of a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1

I know Ozil didn't start but how did Modric fair up and till Ozil and Benzema came on? Was he in a more advanced role or was that occupied by Kaka?

Modric played alongside Pepe in midfield with Higuain-Ronaldo-Kaka-Morata in front of them. He was one of our better players in the 1st half, if not the best.

Yeh, Modric played deeper, however occasionally went in attacking positions.

ozil, modric and kaka where brilliant together.

the team completely changed when ozil came on.

his pass for higuain where he feints his body to fool the defender into thinkin he was going to pass to ronaldo. simple but brilliant.

one negative, pepe in midfield never works. especially against opposition like this. not needed.

The missing links, were Ozil and Khedira. They simply make the team tick, offensively and of course defensively.

That's the anti- Parkthebus, maybe Marcelo for Coentrao, but it is very unbalanced, if we played that eleven week in week out scores like 5-4 and 6-5 would be common at the Bernabeu.

That was one way to play all Arbeloa, Ramos, Varane and Pepe in one lineup, also was a good move to confuse the sh!t out of Fatih Terim who was on the stands
