Seems like they completely scrapped their earlier idea.

Re: PSG unveil new badge
Theyr erased the date of their creation to avoid looking like they have no history.
Their previous idea looked like it had been done by a Marseille fan.

I doubt the change of an image will erase all those great years when they were dry for trophies.

It's not a big deal imo.
They put the emphasis on ''Paris''

Re: PSG unveil new badge
It just looks like they tweaked it a bit. The badge is not really "new" in a sense.
I didn't even notice at first lol

I think it's a good idea to emphasize the "Paris" part.

Yeah agreed, it's a good marketing strategy to align the club with the paris side of the agreement. People in saint-germaine must be pretty butthurt though.

Its amazing that the Eiffel Tower is so popular. It was the tallest building for a few decades, but thats about it. Even the french elite at the time thought it looked hideous.

The Eiffel Tower is the ugliest "artistic" thing in Paris. It is a a great engineering project though, and correctly symbolizes the increased industrialization of France of the time.

Depends on your conceptualization of ugly though Spence. As a 4 year student of Architecture, I (along with my peers) find it an absolute marvel of equipoise and symmetry (despite all too much weight on the upper levels), which transcends to it being, quite beautiful in my eyes. Nonetheless I can appreciate your perception if viewed upon more abstractly.

I like the Eiffel Tower, I think the Arc de Triomphe is a better symbol aesthetically (so do the Qataris since they have a Embassy building next to it lol) but the Eiffel Tower is just iconic really and it's always impressive when yuo see it in person. That's how I feel at least whenever I visit Paris.

This just in, PSG reveal a new theme song to further modernize the club and make it a global brand.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi told CNN World Sport that his vision for the club centers around attracting a diverse set of fans to truly make PSG a household name. He said, "This theme song shows our ideas of racial equality and emphasizes Paris as an extraordinary city."

Re: PSG unveil new badge
Since there are no other clubs in Paris in Ligue 1 or even close to it (none in Ligue 2), then it makes total sense to emphasize the "Paris" part. St Germain is a Paris neighborhood anyhow. It's not like in the UK where you have 10 London clubs or Madrid where you have 4-5 clubs. Used to be more... i remember in the 80s when Racing Club de Paris bought Francescoli, Bossis, Jean Fernandez and Littbarski and somehow only finished mid-table lol. Soon thereafter, RC Paris got relegated. Only time i remember 2 clubs in the capital.

Unsurprisingly, there is nobody inside as PSG has no true fans here, only a few gloryhunters.

Paris is being emphasized for marketing reasons. What happened to the idea of making the badge pale blue?
Glad they didn't go through with changing the color.

What is the symbol that has been removed and why has it been removed?
The little shape that looks like a cot? isn't in the new badge.

Qatar guys don't care about French history. It is a reference to the birthplace of the greatest French King.

Eventough I admire Clovis, Charlemagne and Saint Louis, Louis XIV is remembered as the greatest by most people.

Re: PSG unveil new badge
who gives a fck abt the king and what does he have to do with Paris SG?
no one and nothing
the cradle mainly represents the town of Saint Germain that is being shafted to focus only on modern day Paris, oh well.
Louis what? he has nothing to do with PSG ffs

Saint Germains has to do with Louis XIV, that's why the symbol is there.

By what people?
Where I come from he's like the epitome of self-satisfied c*ckery
Then again, this can probably be explained by where I come from, and history. The Roi Soleil is basically the punchline to the joke that is absolutism.
