Pep was right...as you can see with Thiago and will see with others in the next 5 years or so.

Thiago barely plays. He might even be a Barca player that keeps up.

B. Pep said players like Wilshere....is entire point was Wilshere was lucky because his club has room to use him dispite his age..we dont have room to use the likes of Rafinha ect in the same way.

Zealous the quote was "we have many players of his type", meaning style, not of his quality. The whole thing was blown out of proportion by lazy translation.
He used Cambiasso as a DM, and Cambiasso fits the Jose-type by being old and suited for defensive/counter-attacking style.Zealous wrote:He used Cambiasso didn't he?

Yeah, no way Barça is signing Wilshere. I'm a great fan of Wilshere, but we simply don't have room for him. Plus, we as promising young CM we have Thiago who is as good as him and Rafinha/Sergio Roberto who are not bad also, our Wilsheres Pep was mentioning.

Personally, I think Thiago would be more suited to the more attacking central midfield role at Barca. I mean he is good at CM, however occasionally he's a bit haphazard, though that can improve with experience. But I've seen him attack and think he can offer me in the other midfield role. However I'm not saying he wouldn't succeed in the more restrictive CM role he's currently playing.

Yeah Wilshere doesn't have that Barca mentality. He prefers to power through tackles and keep on going for as long as possible instead of falling over, rolling about whilst holding a random body part and calling people "mono"
