While that is true, CL clubs were not queueing up to sign the likes of Cabaye ( although i don't know why) they will be this time which makes it very difficult.

Would love him at Liverpool tbh. Like you though, I don't see him wanting to join us. Sad

Signing Sakho and Eriksen, as well as someone like HBA would be immense for us. Getting rid of Downing and Carroll are inevitable. This is the first window I'm looking forward to since 11/12. Let's hope we don't *bleep* up this time. :coffee:

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is hopeful of keeping on-loan striker Andy Carroll at Upton Park next season.

The 24-year-old striker scored twice in West Ham's win over West Brom but is due to return to Liverpool in the summer after his season-long loan.

Asked about the chances of the former Newcastle targetman staying, Allardyce said: "There is always a possibility.
"We will look at the end of the season and we will see what negotiations can be done."

we do need a striker so it would make sense.

We have been linked with Aurelien Chedjou of Lille as well which is more interesting to me as well as it seems realistic and someone who wouldn't demand to be an undisputed starter unlike those ridiculous links to Sakho.

Still awaiting more concrete links to a much needed winger though hmm

Most people in France accept Mbiwa was the best CB in Ligue 1 last season and without him Montpellier are nowhere near winning Ligue 1, Cabaye was the brains behind the team that won League and Cup double.... Debuchy is streets ahead of Jallet the only reason Jallet played against Spain was because Debuchy and Sagna were both injured. Laughing

As good as Chedjou maybe we have signed better and more hyped players in the past and its a lot more realistic than Sakho or Aubameyang is Laughing

That's BS, Hilton was actually the most impressive CB of that pair, but since Hilton was a 30+ scrub CB having a career year, no one talked about him. His younger, frenchier, more "talented" partner got all the attention, but Hilton was better.
