Excellent tactics and starting plan from Fergie. The subs were weak though, especially the Valencia sub.
The Welbeck start was genius. United could have won. Those chances might haunt you in the return leg though.
All in all good game.

Re: Real Madrid Vs Manchester United - Post match
Jones was fantastic so fair play for that and in the main they limited them....
Yes De Gea made some fantastic saves but Van Persie had 4 or 5 chances and choked them all away.
I don't think the chances created were all that different even if the attempts on goal were a lot different so a draw is probably fair.

Re: Real Madrid Vs Manchester United - Post match
I think Sir Alex made a mistake in playing Rooney in that half defensive right side role.
Valencia could of done that just as easily and Rooney could of played in Kagawa's position.
I felt because of that he didnt get involved enough and when he did get it he looked bad, most players do when they have touches so infrequently.
Good defensive job, but I felt in attack he didnt do too great because Man Utd were very narrow.
Madrid were very narrow too for much of the game also.

Really enjoyed the game. Felt Madrid was superior and could have won, but United kept their cool and managed to get a precious draw.
De Gea was godlike

Thought both teams played more or less the same tactics. But ferguson was a bit ahead of jose in the end.
Was a great tactical battle.

Boring game. Madrid the better side, but could not finish it. ManU deserved the draw; they worked hard. Rooney defending, Raphael being Ronaldo's shadow. Varane should have gotten red card on that Evra challenge. Got the idea the ref was a bit biased, not just for that action but also ending the game while there still was a corner? lol.

Nah we weren't narrow imo.
Coentrao and Arbeloa were attacking down the flanks and we put a lot of crosses in.

Oh and I must say im a a little worried about RVP. I have a feeling he has that bad habit of missing chances in important games. I hope im wrong.

Natural width, you have none.
Watch the game
Cristiano was playing like the striker he is, Di Maria came inside switching with Ozil who didnt go wide either.
Man Utd defended their box easier because the fullbacks never got 2 v 1'ed.

Meh. He had 3 chances - not that much really. 1 of 3 on the post. I feel he did allright. Just saw a interview with him, he felt he had to score that rebound. Agree with that.
