I don't think that it's just because he dives that he doesn't get injured nor do I think that it's the biggest reason, I just think that it plays a role. Alot of player dives to protect themselves, and to cheat ofc..

ronaldo 's style is very explosive ( just like messi ) with lots of sprinting , off-ball movement , playing every minute of every match with team and country etc... . that's what usually causes muscle strain for players, not " kicks " .

also , ronaldo is far from being a " playing it safe " type of guy . for example ,his balsy header attemps resulted in many injuries over the years
