Make a 90's best XI and a 2000's best XI. For players that played in both, they get categorized in the one in which their prime was.

Here's mine:

--90's--
--Kahn--
--Costacurta-- --Baresi-- --Ferrara-- --Maldini--
--Rijkaard-- --Matthaus-- --D. Baggio--
--Gullit-- --R. Baggio--
--Van Basten--

Left out Maradona cuz he was past his prime in the 90's. Matthaus was too, but still won a World Player of the Year so i put him in. Some.hard choices. Chose Gullit and Van Basten over Zidane and Romario thanks to the chemistry this team would have. Irs basically a Milan and Juve XI. Ferrara wasnt as big of a name as the others but he belongs there in my opinion. He was really injury prone which is the only thing that kept him out of the 94 and 98 World Cups which were his prime years, but he was incredible. It could be argued that Tassotti drserves the spot over him though, with Costacurta moving into the center, but i prefer this way. What a team this would be.

--2000's--
--Buffon--
--Thuram-- --Cannavaro- --Nesta-- --Zanetti--
--Xavi-- --Davids-- --Pirlo--
--Messi-- --Zidane--
--Ronaldo (R9)-

This team is also extremely strong. Though not as strong as the 90's squad. R9 was past his prime in the 90's, but hes still probably the best of the generation. Van Nistelrooy might have something to say but he wasnt great on the ball which woyld be important in this team. Ibrahimovic needs a CL and he could stake a claim for that spot. Maybe Henry or ADP but i think as a lone striker R9 is the better choice. It also doesnt have the chemistry that the other team has, but.its still extrenely strong.
