Re: Juventus - Inter
We shouldn't raise our expectations too high.
Juve are undefeated champions, and much further ahead in developing their team than we are.We just started FFS...I expect Juve to win,so I am prepared for that and anything more we manage is a bonus.
All I want to see from us is playing our hearts out and giving them hell

I dont care if we lose as long as we put up a fight instead of bending over. This is one of Stramma's biggest games so far so it would be interesting to see how he approaches this

Re: Juventus - Inter
I'm not thinking about defeat, only about doing our glorious best
I've been thinking about how Strama will roll out the team, was the last game in 4-3-3 practice? I think three in front is a great idea to 1v1 all three opposite defenders and because all three forwards are in good form.
At the back we should also use 3v2, always have a spare man at the back.
Now, who is going to man mark Andrea Pirlo like his long loving gay lover? It should be someone who is disciplined yet also has the strength to contribute when we have the ball. I would choose Gargano for that role, switch with Cambiasso if its not working. Then cuchu in the holding role to help stop either Vidal or Marchisio. We're going to have a disadvantage in midfield if we play three forwards, both these players will have to be on top of their game, too risky?
Stopping Asamoah is also of vital importance, Capitano defending deep would be my choice here. On the other side Nagatomo is going to have alot of responsibilities bringing the ball forward.
The other alternative is to sacrifice a forward and put in another midfielder to control the game. Alvarez for more fluid play and a posession based approach, Mudingayi to shut them down and prevent danger and Guarin for a mixture of both.
Shape 1:
----------------Handa------------------
--------Rano---Samuel--Juan-------
Capitano-----------------Nagatomo
-------------Cambiasso---------------
--------------Gargano-----------------
--Palacio------Milito------Cassano--
Shape 2:
----------------Handa------------------
--------Rano---Samuel--Juan-------
Capitano-----------------Nagatomo
-------------Cambiasso---------------
--------Gargano-------Mid#3--------
---------Milito------Cassano----------
Shape 3:
----------------Handa--------------
--Capitano--Rano--Samuel--Juan----
-------------Cambiasso-------------
--------Gargano-------Mid#3--------
--Palacio------Milito------Cassano--
JuBe 11:
------------------Buffon----------------
-----Barzagli---Bonucci--Chiellini--
Lichsteiner-----------------Asamoah
------------------Pirlo------------------
-------Marchisio-------Vidal----------
-------Giovinco---------Vucinic-------
What do you think?
Shape 3 is the most defensive, but i like it because it can have width from the forwards, yet also put pressure 3v3 at the back.

Re: Juventus - Inter
we either take advantage of Juvi's lack of width and stretch their midfield with wing play (leaving pirlo with little support), or we can take a more conservative approach and adapt to their game by crowding the midfield with bouncers and playing on the counter.
The offensive approach can be achieved by playing 3 4 3 with Naga and Zanetti on the wing and combiasso and guarin/gargano in the middle, while we keep their full backs busy with the fast and dynamic palacio. The problem with this approach however is the lack of a real winger on the left and with cassano's speed/stamina we wouldnt last more than 45 mins (where is coutinho when you need him)
A defensive approach can be achieved with either 352 or 443. With 352 we would probably field a more defensive Zanetti and Periera with Combiasso Gargano protecting the back line. Guarin would be be in a more advanced role and support Cassano and Milito up front. The problem with this formation is that it's too defensive and our forwards would be isolated with the lack of any ball playing midfielder
443 With 2 bouncers in the middle and a more advanced CM and 2 AMs in Cassano and Palacio is a more balanced approach, but that will create a very thin midfield and that's not what you want against a team like Juvi

Re: Juventus - Inter
im sure we will adopt a 3 man defense. it looked really reliable against big teams. the only reason strama adopted 443 in the last game was the lack of defensive options (silvestre is a real flop).we might play a 3 5 2 with coutinho a more advanced midfielder who is fast and can trouble the opponent. i cant wait to see what stramma will do in his biggest game til nw

Re: Juventus - Inter
Our 343 matches up well offensively with their 352....but it matches up poorly defensively, there is no clear man marker for Pirlo in our setup, and if we push one of Guarin/Cambiasso forward that leaves either Vidal or Marchisio open from those late runs they are always scoring from since their strikers are shit
Milito has to drop back and get goalside of Pirlo, its the best solution I think

Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni has admitted he has yet to decide how to face Juventus. “I could play with just one striker…”
“Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t give you the starting XI,” the Coach stated this afternoon.
“I have too many doubts in my head. I’m desperate as I can’t decide. I’ll make my decisions 45 minutes before the game.
“We could play with just one striker. If we do play then you all know that man will be Milito.”

Thats a very good point, we can't afford to let them win the midfield.
Whoscore says they're weak on the counter, i think we're gonna do what Inter does best, Catenaccio.

forgot to mention the offside. But whatever, i guess JuBe are so use to offside goals, its the norm for them.
