Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
Reading Vs Arsenal
19:45 PM BST Kick off
Capital One Cup
The competition is probably at the end of the to do list but it would still be great if we win this. A long way to go but i dont think why we can't win this competition. We have the players for it and if we take this remotely serious, we have a decent chance of winning it.
I am not sure which team Reading will put on but it might be a depleted one like ours so that's good. If it's their first team than we might struggle a bit. In the end it will be up to the team which wants the win more. We will be playing fringe players and youth players who will be hungry to impress and prove themselves so maybe we might edge it
Team News
With Arsenal; Gervinho, Oxlade, Szczesny, rosicky and diaby are still out. We will be having quite a lot of under 21 players involved. Chuba akpom is the notable player who might be involved.
No fresh injuries for reading

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
Thanks RG, thought no one's gonna do it
With the latest team news I have to change my team a bit, I would start this one:
Feck Chamakh, has no future at Arsenal and is in shat form - can't risk starting him which leaves us with Walcott who still has to decide whether to stay or not but is undoubtedly a better footballer than Chamakh.
Very fluid attack on paper and 3 goalscorers in Walcott, Eisfeld and Gnabry.
Defensively our left side is a bit weak with Miquel and Meade, but Meade offers so much offensively you can't just ignore that.
I think we'll NICK it

Good work RG!
No love for koscielny? I think we can win this match easily. I would start the same team as Urban but i would start koscielny instead of Meade and put miquel at LB.urbaNRoots wrote:Thanks RG, thought no one's gonna do it

Good job RG.
I like Jays line up. I want to see Giroud start and hope he can get a goal or 2. Really excited about Gnabry, hope he puts on a great show and Wenger gives him first team action.
It wont be a easy game and hoping for a 2-1 win.

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
Hope to God we take this match seriously. I want a cup, this one is better than nothing and we have a talented squad of youth players hungry for a chance. This is their chance to do the Arsenal proud and gain more first team chances (looking at you Gnabry)

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
More match facts.
Between 1935 and 2008, Arsenal have played Reading 9 times and have won every single match.
This is not a good time to break that record.

Maybe because of the holidays? No idea.
Great job RG. Hope Koscielny ups his game and stakes a claim for a starting spot.
Ping Pong - Coquelin will eat them alive.

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
the fact the League Cup has a new sponsor this season also provides some positive omens - both times Arsenal have lifted the trophy were in seasons in which a new sponsor had taken over (Littlewoods Cup in 1986/87 and Coca-Cola Cup in 1992/93).

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
Reading will field their strongest 11. Lets not have ourselves another Norwich please. I would play WIlshere and Frimpong and Coq in the middle
with Walcott, Granbry, and Giroud up top.
In defense, I would much rather we keep Djorou in the bench. And have Miquel and Kos as cb's, With Sagna, and Jenko as the fullbacks
----------Manonne
Jenko--Kos--Miquel---Sagna
----Frimpong-----Coquelin--
--Theo---Gnarbry---Wilshere
--------Girouuuuuuuu

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
what a disappointment...... although imagine if Chamakh remained his early Arsenal form somehow... and played up top with giroud? now that would be badass.

Re: Reading Vs Arsenal [Capital One Cup]
Giroud shouldn't start against United. It should be Podolski up top, with Walcott & Chamberlain wide imo.

I hope so, if we start Giroud vs United we will be screwed. Its hard playing 11 vs 12 already but 10 vs 12?
