I'm praying Mbiwa can lock him down as lord knows Perch don't have a hope in hell and hopefully our midfield can deal with Willian that aside there isn't an awful lot to be scared of.

I would still take a 2-1 defeat mind.

There was a hockey player in the NHL whose name was "Satan". Here's his profile:

He was very good. Scored 363 goals and made 372 assists in only 1050 games.

Meh shit game of football but i'll take the result as it is thus far.

Would definitely take Obertan off as he's gave the ball away every time he's got it.

On a slightly different note, Ben Arfa is no way near 100%.

Stuttgart: Ulreich; Sakai, Tasci, Rudiger, Boka; Kvist, Gentner; Okazaki, Maxim, Traore; Macheda

Stuttgart bench: Ziegler, Felipe Lopes, Molinaro, Hoogland, Holzhauser, Hajnal, Harnik

Lazio: Marchetti; Pereirinha, Cana, Ciani, Radu; Hernanes; Candreva, Onazi, Ederson, Lulic; Kozak

Lazio bench: Bizzarri, Andre Dias, Biava, Mauri, Gonzalez, Ledesma, Floccari

Lazio without starters; Klose, Dias, Ledesma, Floccarri, Konko, Brocchi and Mauri.

Petkovic taking Stuttgart far far too lightly with this line-up.

Arquitecto: or is this just a case of Serie A being Serie A in the Europa League?

Despite the Italians being the pre-dominant winners historically within the UEFA Cup, since Calciopoli this attitude has arisen as Italian/Serie A managers in general prefer to concentrate on the league or a top3/4 spot as the disrespect or lack of acknowledgement for the competitions admittedly low benefits is the reason behind the snubs. For them the benefits aren't as tangible as compared to their Serie A endeavours along with multi-tasking for both plains. It also comes down to the general lack of bench depth within the Serie A teams post-calciopoli.

Expect Inter to have the same attitude as Lazio aren't alone.

I fully endorse this thread, but Serie A is making it very hard on me.

I can understand the logic behind this, but I would also argue that a 4th CL spot could be beneficial to the league. That being said, Serie A had a 4th spot not too long ago, so I am sure these managers would know better than me. How do you think you would go about this if you were managing a squad in the Serie A?

I keep up with a lot of the threads that I do not post in, so I have come to expect all our teams to approach these games with that same attitude (a la Udinese). I should still make an effort to watch the games, but there are times when that mentality leads me to lose any motivation to do so.

It's so disappointing to see. I wish Serie A teams can take this competition more seriously. I don't understand, a trophy is a trophy. Lazio have no chance of winning the Scudetto and there chances to finish top 3 is getting slimmer every week. I hate this mentality the Italians have. Napoli is a perfect example, they were embarrassing

I hope Inter actually field a solid team. Lazio could beat Stuttgart if they played their first team. This competition gives us coefficient points, why don't the teams realize this !? So frustrating.

Its actually understandable because the loss of 4th spot isn't enough to completely unite all Serie A teams for one cause, teams that have larger objectives to accomplish within Serie A. Expending vital resource within both competitions can cost these teams who lack strength in depth which is potentially a disaster for both fronts.

Once there is more awareness spread by FIGC (who are full of leaders but lack structure to utilize the asset) it is only then you will see Serie A managers understand the gravity of the situation at hand. Serie A results have improved well since 2010 yet that is only due to some fantastically talented managers who know how to work with lacking resources along with expediting their shortcomings by adept tactics.

Even when there is awareness instilled within the manager ranks, you'll always have stubborn men like Mazzari, Guidolin, Stramacchioni or Andreazzoli & Montella next year who I predict will treat it no different.

Ben Arfa one on one with GK and chips it down his throat

He's clearly not fit but no excuse he should just smash it.

1-0 would have been glorious.

Milan31, that is precisely one of my points, if Serie A gain a 4th CL spot, I would think it would be a benefit to the league and allow teams an easier path to the Champions League. I would like to think that managers already know this, so I feel there is some method to their madness. Perhaps it has to do with the lack of depth that Arquitecto mentioned - teams feel they do not have a shot to win the Europa League, so they rather focus on the league (which would help them reach the tournament again).
