Lady Bracewell-Smith: Sack The Entire Arsenal Board BRACEWELL
Former Arsenal director Lady Bracewell-Smith wants the club’s board to be sacked and replaced by younger, more pro-active members.

Lady Bracewell-Smith was axed as a director in 2009 after disagreements with the other board members and is still not happy with the way the club is being run.

Her links to the Gunners had come from her husband, Sir Charles Bracewell-Smith, grandson of the club’s former chairman Sir Bracewell Smith.

She sold her 15.9% stake in the club to American billionaire Stan Kroenke in making £123million.

Arsenal’s current board consists of Kroenke, chief executive Ivan Gazidis, chairman Peter Hill-Wood, Ken Friar, Sir Chips Keswick and Lord Harris of Peckham.

She believes the board are all too old and need to be replaced by a younger generation of businessman who will make the club more dynamic.

Lady Bracewell-Smith reveals the reasons why she was axed from the board and also calls for former vice-chairman David Dein to return, despite initially claiming he was ”the root cause of all the troubles at AFC”.

“I agree that current board should all go,” she tweeted.

“They are passe. Have nothing more to give to the club at all. In time we will need a more dynamic pro-active, younger board, and a good directional leadership.”

Asked why she was sacked by the board, Lady Bracewell-Smith wrote: “[They] couldn’t handle a woman with power on the board. Felt insecure. Male chauvinism.

“I stand corrected (on Dein). Dein loves the club and although sometimes personalities fall out his contribution at Arsenal has been immense.”
