Giaccherini on Conte-less Juventus
Emanuele Giaccherini has discussed the difficulties of having Coach Antonio Conte suspended for Juventus’ match days.
The tactician is serving a 10-month touchline ban after he was found guilty of failing to report attempts to fix a Siena match while he was in Tuscany.
He still works with the players in the week at Vinovo, but Massimo Carrera replaces him on the bench for games.
“There is certainly a big difference without Conte on the sidelines,” the attacking midfielder told Juventus Channel.
“We were used to having the Coach on the bench during the game and as we walked into the changing room. Something has certainly changed because there is no longer his presence, his charisma.
“It’s not as if we are not fired up anymore without him, because you have to find that inside yourself and the Coach gives us that in the week. We just have to make sure that we take more responsibility.”
The League leaders and reigning champions are next in action on Sunday against Genoa where they’ll be hoping to make it three wins out of three this term.
“It will definitely be a hard game because we will be up against a tough opponent in a difficult arena,” Giaccherini concluded.
