Re: Manchester City vs Real Madrid discussion
I would prefer CalleGOAT to start over Di Maria tonight. Hes been impressive in his limited appearances and adds a bit more directness to the attack.
He can certainly offer something different as compared to Angel

Lol we already have Bronaldo for directness. RM needs as much creativity as possible. Keep Di Magia in.

Re: Manchester City vs Real Madrid discussion
Last time Di maria faced Man City he was brilliant. Constantly giving them trouble and creating space for him and his mates to open up the defence. Why kill the momentum?

khedira was looking good throughout the game, only if he could finish he would be the best box to box midfielder in the world.
i criticized him some times but he was great today.

Why we have to sit back every time we score a goal i don't know.
it seems keeping the ball isn't an option for Mourinho at all.

I heard Modric really played well today. Good to see him start. Khedira played well too as a box to box mf. His only chink in the armor is if an odd ball pops to him/half chance, he loses head

I thought Modric was poor in the first half.. Seemed a step slow, took too long on the ball

I didn't see the match live, but heard that he played well. I just watched highlights on foxsoccer and damn Khedira missed a finish and ronaldo messed up the chip and the subsequent try instead of a simple pass to the right...
Finishing was aweful tonight, we could have scored atleast thrice.

yep, we could have scored about 5 in the first half.
modric was good, he helped in closing down players and played the ball through to players when he had the chance to. i thought he was good.
khedira and alonso were great though, city offered little in the midfield
i thought we played well, we were in control.
i could see us getting an english team in the knock out stage - arsenal

Great game by DiMaria, Iker and Cacktrao
Ronaldo and Khedira were trying too hard to score that they missed simple easy chances

Re: Manchester City vs Real Madrid discussion
Both kehdira is modric were useless like always.
Its been 3 years since khedira came, he still wastes easy chances, whats the point on being in the box all the time, receiving the ball but always fking up chances.
This is the same circle over and over again, he cant finish to save his life.
Same goes for modric, my reasons were correct, whats the point of having him in the team, 30m for nothing, he is neither a DM or AM, and we dont play natural CM's.

Re: Manchester City vs Real Madrid discussion
Modric is an natural CM not an AM (acomplished however). I think Mou should have gone with 3 man midfield.
Khediras mediocrity and CR7s selfishness cost us the game tho.

we played with a three man midfield. modric, alonso and khedira
modric didnt play in as advanced as ozil does in our normal formation. he was covering city players so he was deeper.
khedira isnt a striker so i dont expect him to finish all his chances but yea he has to finish some. but he gets in the positions to score though

Re: Manchester City vs Real Madrid discussion
Modric was kinda poor, however he did make the pass to Di Maria, who then crossed for Benzema to score.
Modric most likely would have been more effective if we had the ball more instead of sitting back.
