Re: Internationals
How did Mert play? Germany letting 4 goals in at home?

Re: Internationals
Koscielny was very average. Gave up a bad penalty and generally didn't give a feeling of confidence. He's rusty. Pretty clear he's behind Mbiwa, who was suspended for Spain. With Varane going to get a long period of start here, he could end up in the 4th spot in France.
He makes a crazy bonehead play every game that cost a goal.

Re: Internationals
As much as he progressed over the 3 years here, he's still got some mistakes in him. (see Liverpool away last season for example)
He needs a coach who trusts him 100%, and a feeling of comfortability which imho the French squad lacks with all the egos around.
The fact that younger, maybe even more talented guys are after his spot doesn't help his cause, but that's the thing he'll have to get used to.
He's 3rd choice at Arsenal in my books, but with our defensive improvement, I'll never worry unless it's Squillaci leading our defense.

Re: Internationals
Koscielny was Arsenal's best defender last season. Yes he hasnt been playing well this season but i dont understand him being 4th choice defender at France. How is Mbiwa better than Koscielny? his team has been conceding and losing matches. I know that Deschamps rate him highly and he'll surely start in the upcomming fixture but who will start with him? Sakho? or Varane?
Sakho isnt any better than Mbiwa or Koscielny and he wasnt that good either against Spain. I havnt seen much of Varane as he hasnt played matches for Real this or last season. He might get more matches this season but who knows he might be worse than Koscielny.

Re: Internationals
Koscielny is our best defender IMO. He's been fantastic since last year and the Chelsea match was just a bad day for him and to be fair a bad day happens to everyone.

Sakho doesn't even start for PSG who prefer Alex... Chelsea's Alex and Mbiwa is probably the most overrated defender out there... rated highly because he's good with the ball let's forget that he has worse positioning sense than Vermaelen and Walcott's football brain
I don't really mind him being France's 4th choice as long as keeps playing like he did so far at Arsenal.

Re: Internationals
Koscielny has not suddenly turned into a bad defender. I think Wenger will say something like "He has played 4 games since May for club or country". I agree with his point, should he say this too. It's hard to get any consistency or form when your in and out for club and country.
Mertesacker was not at fault for any of the goals. Badstuber, Neuer and Boateng were directly at fault for one/some of the goals. Mertesacker was actually fouled for the equaliser by Ibra too.
I didn't have time to write up a full international report this week (Started new job on Monday, I'll be there for the next month, hence less time on weekdays to do things on here for the next 4 weeks

Personally i think that has been a problem ever since he got here, although not every game, but you take the rough with the smooth, when he is good he is very good

Nope, not yet. My agency are looking for a journalist role for me now for when this admin job ends next month. My agent, a huge football and liverpool fan, reads my blog, he said it's just like reading a professional article. Made me so happy.
I know it's arrogant of me, and I didn't go to Uni, only college, but I honestly feel I'm good enough to at least have a chance of writing for money for a career. I read a lot of stuff in some papers, mags and think I would have done better. Makes me sad sometimes.
Re: Internationals
I am sure you will get your job soon enough, your articles are quality and if you stick with it, then i don't see why you wont be hired as a journalist

Re: Internationals
Jenkinson got his first cap for England tonight. Played for an uneventful 20 minutes or so. Hardly saw the ball, but did get forward into a good position once.
He can still play for Finland, since this was just a friendly, but I'm very pleased for him. He has come a very long way since that kid who looked way out of his depth at Old Trafford.
Wilshere also played tonight for around 30 minutes. Got fouled about five times. Sweden players went in on him quite hard. Came through unharmed though and show some decent touches.

Re: Internationals
Matuidi becoming better than what i thought
not sure if i like sissoko in that role
Benz,Ribery and Valbuena fluid trio exchanging positions behind Giroud with
Capoue-Matuidi double pivot
is solid team
leave those newcastle-quality players out of the team
