Re: LFC GL Community
Regardless how close you are with either group it doesn't matter, you want to party chose the best group to party with, and if your close mates aren't the party type then just do a different trip with them next time.
It depends what you want out of the trip TBH, and align them wants with whatever group will satisfy them.

I'd opt for group 1 too. good to have that one person who can watch over the group if it got nasty.
I am studying for LSAT (test in Dec) and it's bumming me. You literally have no seconds to waste on the test....
I am also likely to temporarily move to Texas for a few months after that. Will wait for my World Cup plans until I know which group Iran is drawn in.

Good luck with the LSAT, man, I studied for that stuff for forever. It's a miserable test, but it'll feel great once it's done (celebrating afterwards felt like a huge weight off my shoulders)

Yeah I'm very happy for the Red Socks, they are like our sister franchise so I guess you can call me a bandwagon fan. The series is tied at 1-1??stevieg8 wrote:Amazing day today... crazy nail-biting wins. I hope John Henry is celebrating in style.

How do you feel about your chances? And didn't the Tigers play in the World Series last season?

Re: LFC GL Community
Yeah, the Tigers lost in the World Series last year... They're still a very talented team, but less so than in the past... Massive defensive problems are an issue and have caused problems in the last few games, and Miguel Cabrera is playing with 3-4 different injuries affecting his swing.
They have two of the best five starters in baseball (by any estimate), though, and they're 3/4 pitchers are amazing as well, so it's a tough series.
I'm feeling pretty confident, though, especially after tonight. The Red Sox had the best record and best offense in all of baseball. The pitching looked shaky a few months ago but everything that needed to go right did:
1. Buchholz came back in time to be ready for the playoffs
2. Lackey hasn't fallen off
3. Lester has returned to early season form
4. the trade for Peavy
5. and the bullpen looks much better with Doubront/Dempster available, and Tazawa/Breslow/Uehara being so dominant.
On top of that we've won a ridiculous number of come-from-behind games (including the absurd game Sunday night), so there's a really positive atmosphere around this team.
One of my favorite teams in a long time and I really hope this run keeps going.

I'm not a big baseball fan by stretch of imagination, but I really am hoping that the Red Sox win the whole thing because our connection. I think should you win, it might motivate FSG even further for ultimate success with LFC (not that they are not motivated already mind you).

Re: LFC GL Community
quite impressive to see people are interested in law and all, not my cup of tea at all. Although i like reading John Grisham novels, sometimes few of them are really boring. Good luck Sepi for your exam.
Nish must share the experience if he really went out with group 1. It was clear to me also as everybody else that group I will fare better. But sometimes i will also prefer group II because i like meeting new people but only when I am in mood to do so.
I am quite satisfied with the way FSG have done till now, just once we start getting more concrete news about stadium, I can rely on them for the future as well. It will be great that their team does well in baseball league. I am not sure if it affects at all to what happens at anfield. Btw, I dont get how people enjoy baseball so much.

Re: LFC GL Community
I'll be the first to admit that I'm a fairly superstitious sports fan, so take things as you will, but I'm of the opinion that success breeds success and that sports always follow storylines. If the storyline is in your favor, then you have good reason to be excited. A Sox win this year would be a great push on for Liverpool, both for real reasons (a mental boost, seeing as the ownership will certainly make it known at the club, maybe even have some appearances from players/manager as a publicity thing) and less... tangible... ones (like I said I'm superstitious).McAgger wrote:I'm not a big baseball fan by stretch of imagination, but I really am hoping that the Red Sox win the whole thing because our connection. Regardless, I hope we can get wins on both sides of the pond tomorrow!

This is going to be a tough World Series for me, or good reasons...
My favorite AL team (Red Sox) are up agaisnt "My Team" (Cardinals). I know who I'm rooting for, but it feels odd rooting against the Red Sox. Even so, Viva El Birdos!

I see your picture and raise one of my own.
For the record, that was while watching a walk-off grandslam to send the Sox to the '08 ALCS.
I miss you Manny <3

Great news Nish. I hope you get to see a thrashing with a memorable performance.
Also the Red Sox are 3-2 in the World Series. If they win today they win the whole thing. I really believe this will spark a chain reaction and motivate the owners for grand success with us (again not that they're not motivated already).

AND I LOVE THAT DIRTY WATER!!!!!
i hope someday soon we all get to feel the elation i'm feeling right now about lfc. every fan base deserves a night like this. hundreds of fellow transplants pouring onto the streets of new york, blocking off roads, cheering, shouting, they had to call the cops to clear us out. maybe i'll post some videos later. what a great night tonight is though, so much emotion tied up in this whole season just released in a few hours of dominant play. such an amazing feeling.

Re: LFC GL Community
A farewell.
Okay, apologies; you guys deserved an actual farewell. I honestly should be going 1 by 1 and praising you ALL because you're all awesome and I can't thank you guys enough. This is BY FAR the best "forum" I've encountered. Please do not ever change who you guys are, you really are the best. Unfortunately I'm on my phone and I catch a plane in 5 hours (I was supposed to leave January 13th ffs) and I need sleep or I WOULD OF went through every single one of you and praised you guys. I'm the most disorganised person out there.... I'm supposed to be packing right now I'll wake up early ish and do it tomorrow morning I guess... lol
No bullshit, but I honestly had the best 3-4 years on this forum. Again, I can't thank you guys enough. I'll definitely try lurk from time to time, but there won't be any promises. One thing is certain, and that is I won't ever post again. Which is a good thing for you guys I guess, as I've made this section "dull" being a "pessimist / odious" fan in the last 6 months or so.........
Anyway, I wish you the very best with all your lives, let's hope Liverpool get back to their former glory days and let's all hope we see Liverpool lift the title one day. We definitely deserve it after waiting for 20+ years.... thankfully the future looks promising. I'm certain if we make CL we'll fight for the title next year if we can get those "marquee" signings in. It'll be tough if we don't get top 4 and Luis leaves... but Liverpool will live on. Which is the main thing, really.
From the bottom of my heart, I have to thank you ALL so much. And just remember, you'll never walk alone.
Liverpooi / ynwa / something-red / Red Alert,
Happy new year and good night!

Re: LFC GL Community
Ynwa, you are a great guy. No one here will be happy to see you leave. You've been part of our family and have always provided a different opinion that's always been welcome. Not agreeing on certain does not mean we don't like you. Since the Lithium forums you've been an integral part of our community.
Although your arguments were a little dogmatic at times, you were always objective and that's more than I can say for a lot of people. Hope you reconsider and still post from time to time.
I guess if you have made up your mind on leaving then I do wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that you have a healthy and a happy life. We will always be connected through LFC so this is by no means good bye.
I'll still see you on rawk hopefully
You'll Never Walk Alone and a happy new year.
PS. If I may ask, what is the reason you are leaving us?
