Basically, he said the following:
- Diaby had massive muscular imbalance issues and the rehab at Arsenal was not done well (implied on second part).
- Diaby had one leg that was a footballer's and another leg that was fit for a 10 year old (exact quote).
- The last 3 months were spent to strengthen his injured areas and regain proper balance.
- Also spent a lot of time working on getting the body to release the scar tissue from his injuries, which created irritation, and to reestablish proper flexibility in those areas.
This trainer was the one who trained Diaby during his only injury-free season (2009-2010). After that, Arsenal wanted Diaby to use the club's training and recovery methods (because they're cheap). Only in the last 4 months did Diaby request and receive authorization to return to this trainer.
From what i heard, Arsenal's training staff seems pretty pathetic. You NEVER allow a player to return unless the player's muscular makeup is strong and balanced. Working on regaining flexibility and releasing scar tissue are novice level things. Wtf are they doing?!
No wonder so many injuries at Arsenal keep recurring and players always seem to stay out much longer than anticipated.
Sorry, I am french and I disagree with your translation...
He never mentions Arsenal! All the negative things he said was on Diaby, he said that once he rushed his comeback, but at no point he mentions the medical staff at Arsenal, you say "it is implied", maybe i am not as smart as you but for me he never says anything bad about Arsenal medical team...
The rest (that is not said on the video) about how Arsenal didnt let him go etc is true, but it has no link with the video...
So for me there is absolutely no "breaking news" here, except that once Diaby rushed his comeback and it was a mistake....
Would you care to translate the text as you interpret it then? So we can get a different perspective?
I agree with many post's that based on other players situations and recurring injury issues we have been facing for a long time now, that these accusations ring true..

Re: Diaby's physical trainer for past 4 months talks
He's right that the trainer didn't mention Arsenal at all, which is why i put "implied" in there. He chastised Diaby for agreeing to come back without being ready because, if he didn't do that, it would seem that he was directly condemning Arsenal. It would be stupid for a private trainer that needs club approval to get footy clients to antagonize a club.
Another reason i put "implied" in there is that the medical staff must first clear a player before a player is allowed to play. This trainer made it clear that Diaby was nowhere near ready to play and, in fact, was not rehabbed anywhere near the way he was supposed to be. Very irresponsible and, frankly, unprofessional.
In essence, the trainer gave his version of "why Diaby has been so fragile" and "can Diaby be counted on now" without committing career suicide. By chastising Diaby for playing too early he accomplished this.

Have you heard of deserts and mirages? And working in Japan is not as good as being here on a long all expense covered holiday. Unfortunately, I work here (when I am not on GL).

Before we both get told off for it, I go back to Germany from here and thats where I will be for quite a while. The rest of this conversation can now be moved to FB.
On topic : I am praying that RG's faith in Diaby is paid off by some more stellar performances this season.
(And that is how you make sure the admin isn't mad at you for thread derailments.)

Well I think you imply too much...because I listened once again and it is clear the only thing he says is that Diaby rushed his comeback...you blame it on the club, of course, but I think Diaby's case is not only the fault of the club, I saw the 2006 tackle and it was a career-ending tackle!
The doctors said it was almost career-ending, so I am not surprised he is fragile!
Renaud Longuevre (his personal coach) was also invited on a french radio yesterday (RMC) and he said that it was all down to his 2006 injury from Dan Smith...he also said a lot of medical stuff, without mentioning Arsenal.
At the end he said that now it should get better but he wasnt celebrating yet..

@SSgooner and ilikebergkamp Welcome to the forums fellow gooners.
On topic: I agree with some of you that brought up personal trainers for certain players.
Imagine if Wilshere and Rosicky had one of those.
Absolutely sure these guys wouldn't have these niggling, constantly returning injuries.
Our depth means jack if we can't keep our players fit.

Hi there mate
I would just stress that the translation is more about Diaby's fitness level rather than criticising the arsenal medical staff. It's true that it can be deducted to the point where it seems Arsenal Medical Team didn't do the Rehab properly however that bit is Sportsczy's opinion. The main transcript is mainly about how Diaby's leg is

Re: Diaby's physical trainer for past 4 months talks
For now RG. His 2006 injury was one that requires constant and proactive therapy.
I put "implied" because that's my opinion and he didn't say it directly. But honestly, after all the medical disasters at Arsenal in terms of rehabilitation and recurring injuries, how can you not feel that way.
It's also true that Renaud Longevre was not cleared by Arsenal for a good long time after Diaby requested it. It's a bit that Diaby suddenly regained physical form when he was allowed to train with him again... within 4 months too.
Again, how can you medically clear someone who's injured leg is described as "fit for a 10 year old"???
But that's my opinion. Longevre made sure he stayed clear of Arsenal and blamed Diaby for not knowing better himself. But IMO, when the team medical staff tells a player that he can play... should the player know better or should the medical staff know that he's not ready? Can a player or anyone bully a doctor into giving a wrong prognostic?

Second time he's injured this season even with his legendary physical trainer.
He's just injury-prone no ones fault really. "That" tackle destroyed him.

Re: Diaby's physical trainer for past 4 months talks
On Diaby... he's actually ok. Thigh strain from playing too many minutes after doing practically nothing for a year. As long as it's not an ankle injury, it has nothing to do directly with his old injury.
It's one of those things. Wenger cannot play him more than once a week for now. I don't see how that's a bad thing with Wilshere coming back.
Problem with Arsenal for the past 16 months was that he kept re-aggravating the ankle and he wasn't ready to play. It's not the case here.

I agree with you, except in Wilshere paragraph. In my opinion, Diaby must play all important and away matches, Wilshere, Arteta and company can't play his role. A midfield with Arteta-Wilshere-Cazorla looks incredible, but against Man United, Chelsea, City... is a suicide .
Diaby is too necesary, more after Song sell.

have you not watched Jack play before ??, Jack can easily play Diaby's position. He played there and impressed in his first full season even covering for Song when he thought he was an attacking mid

Wilshere can play his role to co extent.. He is so good both defensively and offensively.. But no one in our team can provide the physical presence and strength Diaby offers...
we need some growth hormone in our academy.. All our kids are short.. Frimpong, Coquelin, Wilshere, Ox, etc..
