Berbatov wanted Fiorentina back?
There are reports Dimitar Berbatov called Fiorentina on Friday to revive the abandoned transfer before signing for Fulham, but the club was unimpressed.
The striker caused chaos this week when in the space of a single day he agreed moves to Fiorentina, Juventus and then Fulham.
The ex-Manchester United hitman did eventually sign for Fulham, but the Viola were left waiting for him at the airport to complete a medical and he never arrived.
They responded by releasing a blistering statement that slammed the Bulgarian for his unprofessional behaviour.
Italian newspapers today claim Berbatov phoned Fiorentina directors in a bid to apologise for standing them up and asked if they had signed a new forward yet – as he was undergoing a medical at Fulham!
However, the response was cool to say the least and director of sport Daniele Pradè has not forgiven him for this sensational and embarrassing snub.

Re: Berbatov wanted Fiorentina back?
my thoughts exactly, the guy called to apologise and ask whether they had found another forward and not to try and save the deal

Re: Berbatov wanted Fiorentina back?
Classy Berbatov
Most players wouldn't even bother especially after the strong words from Fiorentina.
I wonder if they were too embarrassed to confirm that they did in fact find a new forward - Luca Toni. Bet they were.

lol, I'm guessing you don't know that he decided against moving to Italy because of his family.

He chose Fulham because he was settled in England.

That's what I'd heard too.vivabarca38 wrote:He chose Fulham because he was settled in England.
It's also become readily apparent that he is no longer seeking personal and professional achievements anymore. He's been a bit too content to ride the pine pony at Manchester United for the last few seasons, despite being good enough to start for practically any English team and more than a few in the Champion's League. I would've liked to have seen him at Juve, because I believe he has another few seasons left where he can be a 20 goal-a-season striker. However, after this stunt, I'm glad he didn't end up at the Old Lady. He doesn't have the drive anymore. I'll take a hungry Quags and Matri over an unmotivated Berbatov any day.
