I think we should tweek our formation a bit to fit the players that we have. First when you look at our "new squad" you see a mid now that has a lot of athletic ability and tireless runners, Nocerino, Prince, Emanuelson, Nocerino, Constant and Flamini are all center mids that have the ability to cover a lot of ground all game long. Not only do we have an athletic mid, but now we also have an athletic attack. Pato (when fit), Robinho, and El Shaarawy are all players that rely on their athletic ability to get past defenders. lets not forget about the defense as well, Zapata, Abate, De Sciglio and Antonini (he is fast) are also athletic backs that can run with just about anyone. A 4-2-3-1 is built for an athletic team that has players that can cover a lot of ground because in theory in attack you play a 4-2-4 in defense you play a 4-5-1, and of course when balanced you play in the 4-2-3-1. Now since we have such an athletic team I think we should go ahead and try this formation out, we have the players to do it.

***I think De Sciglio will eventually take over at left back, Antonini is not worthy of a starting spot
Prince can still stay as an "attacking mid" but will just have to defend a little bit more, but not much since there will be two defensive mids. Also, with the two defensive mids it frees up a lot of space for the attack.

we have so many mediocre players that no matter what formation or tactics it is ... we will still have difficulties with big teams.

if there was technical players, they can adapt to any formations.
