Juventus renew Jovetic interest
Juventus are ready to make one final bid for Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic, reports the Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Montenegro international is liked by the Italian champions, but tempting him away from the Viola has proved problematic.
Fiorentina have insisted that the player is not for sale, but they would be willing to consider any bids of over €30m.
According to today’s story, Juve director general Beppe Marotta will offer the services of Fabio Quagliarella and cash for the forward.
The Bianconeri have spent all summer trying to sign a top player in attack, but they missed out on primary target Robin Van Persie after he joined Manchester United from Arsenal.
Juve have also been linked with Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko and Athletic Bilbao’s Fernando Llorente.

Re: Juventus renew Jovetic interest
Here is a good question....
Would you prefer Jovetic? Who is young, great, but has no European experience, a key factor missing in much of this Juve side?
Or Llorente? Who is in his prime but has played in the Europa League and scored against top sides such as Man Utd?
Or Dzeko? who has experience playing in the Bundesliga and EPL and won the EPL with Man City?
I am still undecided in this choice as it is tough for me to want Jovetic due to his injury prone self and due to his lack of experience in Europe.

I think you put too much weight into European experience. You also shouldn't forget about Serie A, which is a majority of our season. Jovetic has proven Serie A experience, but you don't know if Llorente or Dzeko will do well in our league. That concerns me more than how we will perform in UCL. If Dzeko or Llorente can't do well in Serie A, it won't matter for UCL.
Also, people really put too much into Llorente's goals against United in Euro League (also, United only started about half of their first team in those matches). I'm sorry, but great performances in Euro League don't mean a lot to me, but that's just me.
Jovetic is proven in Serie A and I'm sure he will do well in UCL if given the opportunity. He has achieved club and International success at an early age in his career and I have no reason to think he will just suck when he plays teams from the EPL, La Liga, Bundesliga, etc.
I would love to have him at Juve, but I have a bad feeling that Fiorentina isn't going to sell. They made a lot of solid moves this summer and I'm guessing that they did that to build a competitive team around Jovetic.

Yea that is true about Serie A experience and it is probably more valuable than CL experience.
Don't think we will offer 30mil Euros and I just don't see Jovetic leaving unless he really wants to leave. If Fiorentina don't get at least a Europa League spot next year then he is probably going to want to leave.
Re: Juventus renew Jovetic interest
Including Quags in the deal may make a difference. I think that Fiorentina had no desire to take on Matri. Jovetic is the only player that we have been linked with that I would pay his full asking price. He is 22 and well worth 30 million in this market.

1-Juvetic
2-Dzeko
3-Llorente
main reason as been said is the serie A experience and I also believe a player being a star at 22 worth every penny on other hand Dzeko is a reliable goalscorer and Juvetic is injury prone.
I believe Juvetic and Dzeko will cost almost the same and between those two I prefer Juvetic.
However the reality is even if we buy Llorente I will be a happy man regarding this fact that leaving this transfer window empty handed may damage moral of the team and the fans and may hunt us all season long.

I think none of those would help you solve the problem in attack.Of course they are good to have in the squad; I mean, i think Juventus needs a real world class striker, like RVP...I just imagine Dzeko at Juve, he would be good, but not enough to win UCL for example, or Llorente...or Jovetic. With a striker like Robin, Juve would be unstoppable in Europe, but now it's too late.I watched almost all of Juve's games last season and it's a kind of Man United when they won UCL in 08'.The similarity i am talking about is the squad, very strong squad with many good players on each position and the team chemistry is very high now.
I wish good luck to 'bianconeri' in finding a great striker 'till 31st August.

The problem with RvP is his injury history and age. We wouldn't have him at his peak for long enough and he might end up playing 15 games per season which is bad news.
Jovetic would be brilliant in attack and remember his age. He is most likely far from his peak and he is already a step up in what we have upfront.
Fair points though and if RvP was definitely going to have a repeat of last season he would have made our team the finished article. You made some good points.

Thanks for the good wishes, However with the reasons you mentioned even RVP is not good enough!vlafy wrote:juveman17 wrote:Here is a good question....

I believe RVP is not the superman everyone thinks he is. just being great in one season doesn't mean he's gonna continue like that.
Last season, Van Persie played 3331 minutes in the English Premier League and scored 30 goals and provided 13 assists.
But in the 2010-11 and 2009-10 seasons, he only played 1770 and 1250 minutes respectively, combining for a mere 3022… less than last year alone.
To make matters worse, Van persie played only 1073 minutes in 2007-08 and only 1456 in 2006-07. Even in 2008-09 he only managed to play about two thirds of the season.
I'm glad arsenal didn't rob us for almost 30 years old injury prone and with Higuain and Cavani out of picture I believe the other 3 options are the best we can get.
