Winning Juventus impress Carrera
Juventus touchline boss Massimo Carrera was more than satisfied with his side’s performance in Sunday’s win over Milan.
The Italian champions beat the Rossoneri 3-2 to lift the Trofeo Berlusconi in the annual pre-season friendly at San Siro.
“We played well, especially considering yesterday’s heavy workload in training and the hot conditions,” the man who is replacing Antonio Conte on match days told Juventus Channel.
“The players stuck to what we worked on in training and did what we’ve asked of them. We’re a team, we work as a unit and the results are a testament of this.”
The Old Lady fielded an experimental side which was missing the likes of Gigi Buffon and Andrea Pirlo, but included youngsters Luca Marrone and Paul Pogba.
“Those two players did well, but Marrone and Pogba are still young and will have to improve,” added the former defender.
Juventus also tried out a few things in attack by giving Sebastian Giovinco-Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella-Alessandro Matri a half each.
“I’m happy with how both strike partnerships performed in the game,” concluded Carrera.
