As expected, I see that there is no Song.
Surprised to see Santi start though AW's hand might have been forced into this. Giroud isn't match fit, so its good to have him on the bench.
I feel somewhat sorry for Chamakh now, tbh - not even in the squad! He used to atleast be on the bench last season.
Anyway, 3 points more important.

We tend to draw the opening fixture of the season.. If i'm not mistaken.
Last season: 0-0 vs Newcastle
Season before: 1-1 vs Liverpool
I also remember about 5 years ago a 1-1 vs Aston Villa.
But then again there was the 6-1 vs Everton, I think 3 or 4 years ago, (confusing me a bit with the 1-0 vs West Brom). So lets hope we have a good, healthy win again today.

I don't like those stats.
We have had a signing from Ligue 1 being sent off each of the last two times - Koscielny and Gervinho respectively. Wonder what that implies for Giroud then! :/

After 20, we starting to work our way into the game, Cazorla has been superb so far, Arteta has been well Arteta, Gervinho has been making nice runs but losing possession way to much

on chat i fink, i think the half showed that some players are still rusty from pre season, but overrall i like the way we controlled the game, i think we will score in the second half. however, it also shows that we really need a player like sahin and fast, we cant rely on inconsistent players like diaby.

Cazorla been kept quiet by cattermole after a fast start, other than rhat we havent looked good at all, hopefully we improve in the 2nd half alot

we our full back gibbs in particular close down tightly and campbell dropping deep to receive their Cms exploit space created behind gibbo most dangerous approach so far

not really is just that our players are not smart enough to find cazorla, too many loose passes in critical areas.
