Sahin playing as a left back

Right now versus the La galaxy he is playing as a left back. Why? I dont know

Mourinho definitely doesnt trust him or sees him in his plans.

I feel ashamed for him. He is such a good player. why not play him in his position.

I just dont get it, its a preseason game. Hope fully he switches to the midfield later in the half

He did the same to Alex Fernandez as well playing him as a right back.

I think Mourinho asked Lass to play at RB and Alex in midfield but I guess Lass didn't get the message. I think Sahin played well at left back and stuck to his role, Mourinho admires players who follow instructions, if he does stay, he'd definitely get some minutes at least.

Probably cannot find anyway else to play him (though its preseason so he should get a fit in the midfield...) though with Coentrao and Marcelo coming back, he won't be playing much time there.

i am sure if he found a place for both Kaka and Lass he would definately find a place for poor Sahin

Seriously, when Pedro Leon disobeyed some trivial order Mou ruined his career and ridiculed him, Lass refuses to play in a crucial position and he bends over backwards and plays Sahin in a FB role instead.

oh cmon, Pedro Leon never was RMs material. He didint ruin his career lol, his back playing Getafe.

I don't feel like he did it out of disrespect but nonetheless seeing Sahin playing as LB irritates me. Such talent being wasted for nothing.

No one can say otherwise. Hopefully he kicks ass in his loan (if that goes through) and we bring him back or he realizes that coming to Madrid was a mistake and shows what he's capable of elsewhere.

I feel like he put him merely to send a message, "So yeah I'm not gonna need you so play LB for a while"


If Lass and Kaka stay and Sahin goes I wouldn't know what to say.

We are talking about Pedro 'Navas has nothing on me' Leon. Pedro 'The New Raul' Leon. He doesnt even start for Getafe, Mou essentially squashed out his hopes. Not saying he could have ever been any good, but Mou capriciously threw away his careers potential.

exactly, i dont know why lass is still at the club.

why are we letting him leave on a free next season, sell him!

Sahin did play well though, his passes were good. he may not be defensively good as lass but in every other aspect he is better.

If he leaves on loan he is never coming back, it is certain.

Extract from Jose Mourinho's Interview. He talks about Nuri Sahin's future

Sahin joined Real for £8million last summer after helping Borussia Dortmund win the Bundesliga title.

Kaka and Lass' situations are different to Sahins. Sahin is good enough to start for us, however Mourinho knows he isn't going to start this season with Alonso, so a loan is the best thing.

Lass is nothing more than a backup. Maybe he's backing up Khedira. Plus his contract runs out next year.

Kaka, well Mourinho wanted him to leave a few weeks ago, however he doesn't mind if he stays either. If the club receives an offer I'm sure it'll be considered.

He's playing there like Karanka said for the sake of playing.

That's not Sahin's position. Mou knows that. Sahin knows that. Everyone knows that.

So despite whatever he does there he's going to get loaned out or sit out on the bench the rest of the season. Because the excuse/reason is no longer fitness.

Sahin is only playing to get fit, apparently Sahin wants Mourinho to promise him more playing time next season and Mourinho doesn't want to promise him that. In a way Mourinho is telling him that Alonso position in the team is set and if Sahin wants to play more, then it'd have to be in another position.

I'd love to see how Sahin fares in the hole behind the striker, I think he'd perform better there for Madrid than in central midfield.

If he doesn't convince Mourinho, then a loan move to a club like Malaga in my opinion is an excellent choice. He'd get Champions League or Europa league games and still get to start every match, plus train under Pellegrini.

Where did Mou say that it helped anybody, or are you just making that up?

Mourinho explained Sahin that he wont play ahead of Khedira, Alonso, Lass and Granero - so Jose gave him the right to choose between a loan-spell and fighting for a place in another position. It looks like Sahin is really trying to impress and doesn't want to move by accepting to play as full-back. In the end a loan-spell would be good for three parties. The lucky club that can use his services for a year, Sahin himself and Real Madrid.

I don't see what SO wrong with what Mourinho is doing. It's not that he's doing a Ferguson by benching a player with a long-term contract and not letting him leave.

It would be wrong if Mourinho gave him hope so he wont leave and then bench him for a whole year.

What's so wrong, is that in consecutive preseason friendlies we've played with Khedira and Lass on the pitch together as our CM's and a top 10 CM in the world in Sahin is playing at left back at the same time.

2010-11 Sahin was Top3 CM imo.
